Zwierzyniecki Bridge is placed in Wrocław. It's a city located in the east of Poland. It was built in 1655. Initially the bridge was wooden.
During the plague epidemic in 1704 the bridge was the place of control of passes. That's why it was called Paßbrücke. It means pass bridge in german.
The bridge is 62 metres long and its width is 21,80 metres. It can carry 20 tons. It has two tram lines. Zwierzyniecki Bridge was designed by Karl Klimm, Richard Plüddemann and A. Fruhwirth.
Currently Zwierzyniecki Bridge is renovating.
It's also called as "Szczytnicki" and "Ceglany" which means brick.
The bridge was made of iron in 1895-1897. The construction of this bridge consists two rib steel arches remoted 12.5m apart. It's decorated with four Art Nouveau obelisks created from red sandstone. At night it's lit by street lamps.
