The Korean war started because of greediness and power of land. Korea splitted into 2 and went into war in which China and the US joined.

It all started after the Korean war and when it ended in 1953 juche was created. It’s harder to defect and move to south Korea or any other countries because a lot of neighboring countries are against north Korea and will send you back if you get caught its a a win and kind of not a win because a lot of people will treat you poorly in south Korea. Still they will have some more freedom and peace with their new life.

Currently North Korea is an isolated country while South Korea is a free and globalized country with big companies and a really wealthy country. Which is causing thousands of North Koreans to defect and get their freedom because in North Korea there’s no peace and no human rights, poverty and famine too.

Since 1953, there's about 300,000 North Korean defectors and about 33,800 soldiers living in South Korea according to the government. North Korea isn’t economically developed and poor however they could’ve spend those money on food for their citizens because about 3.5 million people have died due to famine and murder too.

The citizens are very unhappy and mentally unstable because they can’t even eat, live a happy life, can’t dress how they want, poverty, they all have to follow Kim Jong Un’s words if not they would be killed.

There's no freedom of speech, no freedom of religion however juche is allowed or seen as a religion, most of all north Koreans citizens can’t meet their family members when some are in south Korea and since the war it isn’t easy to defect and travel pass. Some north koreans that had defected to south Korea are sometimes even sold off like an object.

The south Korean's viewpoints of this is that they don't feel the need for north Korea to defect to south Korea since these two aren't on the same team

However the South Korean government thinks that if north korea ever opens up it’s a jackpot and win-win for them because they can take over, be more safe from the North Korean nuclear weapons, they can develop their country more, more chaebols and companies.

It is never easy to defect and the outcomes of defecting too. If you're caught they will hunt down your entire bloodline such as killing, murdering, abusing, kept in slavery and so on.

However if they didn't get caught and safely defected to south Korea life isn't as easy there either due to all the discrimination they face, some gets sold off to live, some get raped to earn money and live their life there. They are getting hate because of their height, appearance, lack of knowledge because some never got a chance to get an education and so on.
