M for Murder

This year the students worked on the theme of The past in the present and more particularly the influence of detective stories. Book covers, film posters, poems, scenarios, here is some of their work. Enjoy!

-THE BET- Synopsis Written by MAYA JR. John Liamson (J.L.) is the most average male person in all of Manhattan. One day while J.L. was driving home, he came across a casino that he had never seen before and since he did not have anything better to do he decided to enter it and try winning some money… And we could say that he did, he entered the casino with 150$ in his wallet and came out with 1,500 000.00$ he knew he would not have to worry about anything money related for a long time but what he did not know was that the money he won was some dirty money that the New York City Mafia was trying to get rid of. This is the story of me J.L. The most average male person of Manhattan that is now tracked by the federal authorities the FBI the CIA and several other gangs across all of the United States of America and I don’t think it’s going to go well. And just one thing to remember…Money can be your best friend or like in my case your worst enemy

A dead body was discovered this morning in the dark street of Sunset Boulevard, in London. Who? Why? How? No traces, no clues, just one symbol ......

She pointed her weapon at me and prepared to shoot when a noise was heard. It was a bystander who heard our screams and came to see what was going on.&nbsp; «&nbsp;Johnny, you will regret it&nbsp;!&nbsp;» cried Della, and she ran away. &nbsp;The man came in and he was panicked&nbsp;: «&nbsp;What’s going on here&nbsp;?!&nbsp;&nbsp;You killed that man ?&nbsp;» &nbsp;«&nbsp;Call the police, the real culprit has escaped&nbsp;», I said. &nbsp;Then I put my clothes and Paul’s on him. I explained the situation to the man who was with me and he seemed terrified and had a hard time believing me. A few minutes later, the police arrived and took me with them. At the police station, they took my statement and kept me in a cell.&nbsp;They’re going to try to locate Della, but she’s probably already very far away. A few months later, the police had a new lead, they managed to locate Della through surveillance cameras. She hasn’t left the country but is still hiding in the city. The police had gone to the place where they last located Della, so they ran into everything and it led them to a place that may have been her hiding place. So they sent the whole patrol out there and they saw Della coming out of the little house where she was hiding.

Seeing the cops, she ran to try to escape them. But there were policemen everywhere, and she had no way out, so she was arrested. The police warned me that the trial would be in two months and that they still had to gather all the evidence of the crime. While awaiting the trial, they released me and told me not to leave the city. So the two months passed and it was the day of the trial. When the police took Della inside the courthouse, she glanced at me with anger and started to cry because she knew it was the end for her. The judge called me to testify and then it was up to Della to testify. She denied everything, of course, but the evidence charged her. The sentence was lifted, the judge sentenced her to twenty years in prison. The police then took her out to prison. They then let me go after signing documents. Justice has now been done. Della has told Johnny she refuses to report his death to the police. She tells Johnny to put Paul's clothes on, put Johnny in the boot of the car and see fire to it s the police will think it is Johnny who is dead. If Johnny refuses, Della says she will kill him ........

I was hesitating and thinking for a while, and then I said&nbsp;: &nbsp;«&nbsp;This is crazy, I can’t do this&nbsp;». She looked at me with a fierce look and yelled at me: &nbsp;«&nbsp;Of course you will&nbsp;! I leave you no choice, or else I end your life&nbsp;».&nbsp; «&nbsp;But it’s never going to work, they’re going to investigate, they’re going to do an autopsy, and they’re going to realize it’s not my body&nbsp;». &nbsp;«&nbsp;I don’t care what you think, we’ll be long gone by the time they figure it out. Now do what I tell you or I shoot&nbsp;». &nbsp;Realizing that our conversation was going nowhere, I resolved to do so, but I did not intend to work for her or be her accomplice. I just wanted to stay alive so I could report her to the police.&nbsp; «&nbsp;All right, I’ll do it&nbsp;» I said.&nbsp; «&nbsp;Fine, I’ll wait for you on the other side of the mountain and don’t be too long&nbsp;». Then she left. So I took off my clothes and Paul’s clothes, and then I put my clothes on him and I had to put on Paul’s bloody clothes. I felt very bad at the time, but I had no choice. Now all I had to do was set the car on fire, but I wasn’t going to, I couldn’t do that because I didn’t kill him and I didn’t want to end up in jail. Della then came back: &nbsp;«&nbsp;But you still haven’t finished&nbsp;!&nbsp;» &nbsp;«&nbsp;I can’t&nbsp;! It was you who killed him, I refuse to be your accomplice&nbsp;».&nbsp; «&nbsp;But Johnny, you are completely crazy, if you come with me, you will make a lot of money. Now finish what you have to do&nbsp;». &nbsp;«&nbsp;I decided not&nbsp;».&nbsp;
