To send...or not to send.... That is the question!

<ul><li>"My test scores are above average, but I didn't do as well on the SAT/ACT as I personally would have liked." You&nbsp;should&nbsp;submit your test scores.</li><li>"Standardized testing has always been a weakness of mine. My grades and curriculum are rigorous and competitive, but my SAT/ACT scores are below the school's mid-range." You&nbsp;should not&nbsp;submit your test scores.</li><li>"I don't want to pay or can't afford to send my test scores." Scores can be sent using a free option. You&nbsp;should&nbsp;submit your test scores - ask us how.&nbsp;</li><li>"Sending my test scores is an obstacle and will take way too long." You&nbsp;should&nbsp;submit your test scores.</li><li>"My best scores are way below Hofstra's published mid-range scores." (The mid-range of admitted students submitting SAT scores is&nbsp;1230 to 1410&nbsp;and the mid-range of admitted students submitting ACT scores is&nbsp;27 to 33.) IMPORTANT! PLEASE NOTE: MANY colleges in the U.S. are still ACT / SAT optional this year. Students should take the ACT and/or SAT if they believe their scores will enhance their college application. However, if you decide not to send your scores you will not be penalized. Other College Fairs - Click on the computer below for a list of college fairs in the area! Open Houses - Check with individual school to see if they are hosting in person events.

September - Make sure you are taking challenging classes&nbsp; - Get involved! Sign up for extracurricular activities&nbsp; - Attend College Fairs October / November&nbsp; - Attend College Fairs - Take PSAT beginning of October - Begin researching colleges&nbsp; - Register for AP exams (if appropriate) December&nbsp; - Talk with college friends home on winter break&nbsp;&nbsp; - Review PSAT scores with your guidance counselor&nbsp; January&nbsp; - Prepare for the ACT and/or the SAT.&nbsp; February&nbsp; - Plan college visits during vacation (if possible)
