''Anđele'' - The Women's Society ''Anđela Lovreković'' helped us again with our project. Today in Mraclin our dear hostess Vesna Tafra spent with us the whole afternoon, showing us how to make bread from different types of flour and bake it in a bread oven, the way our grannies used to do.
But first, we visited our local mill ''Pukanić'' to buy some flour. We needed corn, rye, wheat and buckwheat flour
Then, we had to put some more logs onto the fire to prepare it for baking bread. Our students Antonija and Leon were taking care of it.
Leon is taking his job very seriously. The fire is going to be great, just the way it should be.
So, we've learned so far what the main ingredients for bread are: flour, salt, yeast and warm water. For today' s bread the base was corn flour and then our granny mixed it with, rye, wheat and buckwheat flour.
Before you can get to mixing and kneading, it's important to proof the yeast. ...
