Going Coastal 2023

Wolf Haven is an essential sanctuary for wolves, providing them with a safe haven and promoting their conservation. They also educate the public about the importance of wolves in ecosystems. Wolf haven crew about helping these wolves in bad situations, and if humans did this for other humans, I think life would be a lot better.

Columbia River Maritime Museum First Nations Section

When the Europeans arrived in this area, they changed a lot of things. Everybody was impacted in some way. The First Nations trade routes and connections were changed as they started gathering more and more furs to trade with the Europeans, nearly bringing some species into extinction. It all changed how the First Nations changed how they thought about the world, and the same happened for the Europeans.

Visiting fort stevens was really cool, we learned all about how it was the only military base to be attacked in that area, and how well-trained the crew was, and how many quit when they were told not to fight the attackers who were just guessing the location.

The Tsunami machine in the Visitors Center shows how big waves can be and why they can be dangerous. It helps people learn about tsunamis and why we need to be careful near the ocean.

We learned all about the local wildlife and the migration path of the whales. And saw whales!

Hatfield Marine Science Center Speedy Science

We chased the crab down the tube with our fingers and timed them. Then we took data of the crab and compared it against others. eg. Male vs. Female.

Citizen scientists are great because they help collect more data, bring different ideas, involve the public, make science faster, tackle environmental issues, empower people, spark creativity, save money, and make science accessible.

The Tillamook Cheese Factory was founded in Tillamook, Oregon due to its ideal conditions for dairy farming, convenient location for transportation, and strong community support.

The names Streeter, James Streeter. I am a grade 8 (almost 9) student at Seycove secondary and I just went to Oregon witch was pretty awesome. It was a crazy trip and I enjoyed most of it. 

Places like high life adventures are important to small towns because they boost the economy, and bring everyone together. 

Hatfield Marine Science Center R.O.V. Challenge

I think we did quite well in the R.O.V challenge, ours waved around fine and was able to pick stuff up. It terms of building we did okay. It was hard to get the right pieces, but other than that we only had a few minor disagreements. Driving our creation was very fun.

Cannon Beach is most well known for Haystack Rock. It is sometimes called the third largest intertidal rock in the world.

The Astoria Column is 125 feet tall and is covered on the outside by a spiral frieze that depicts scenes from the history of Astoria and the Pacific Northwest.

We worked quite well on the quests. Most of the time. There was instances where we all thought we should do different things, but we only DNFed in one quest so, not all bad. We worked well together in all other times and made progress on the quests. We could have agreed more on some things though.

Looking forward to seeing the Astoria column because it just seems like a cool place. 

Depoe Bay is known as the world&apos;s smallest navigable harbor. On March 11, 2011, the port was damaged by a tsunami caused by an earthquake off the coast of Japan.

The rocks on the beach were unique as the they are the only volcanic cobblestones in the world, so it is a crime to take them.
