Function of the Organs
Bones
- supports the body/ provides body shape
- protects organs
- plays a role in homeostasis
- hold bones together
- makes sure the joints don't twist
- stabilize muscles and bones
- makes the skeleton flexible
- allows our bodies to move
- connect muscle to bones
- allow us to move our limbs
- help prevent muscle injury by absorbing most of the hit
- protect joints and bones
- enhance bone resilience
- resist compressive forces

Threats to The Skeletal System
Osteogenesis Imperfecta ( brittle bone disease ) - a genetic or heritable disease in which bones fracture easily, often with no obvious cause or minimal injury

Osteosarcoma ( bone cancer ) - Cancer that begins in the cells that form bones. Often found in the long bones like arms and legs but it can start in any bone.

Fun Facts!!!
