•Tine was a young girl who lived in Echali, in the Mishmi hills of Arunachal Pradesh.
•Through out the day, she used to run through the jungle, climb on the trees following the ‘Whooshoo’ sound that she could hear from the mountains.
•Her family moved to the closest town Roing, where she completed ten years of her schooling.
•Immediately after her schooling, she applied to be a porter for the expeditions in the mountains where she had to carry heavy loads and march over long distances.
•She had disguised as a boy to be a porter and carried nearly twenty- five kilos of luggage every day.
•The officers scolded Tine for breaking the rule by disguising herself as a boy, but allowed her to continue as she knew all the routes.
•In one of the expeditions, she met Dr Romeo Meitei who became her mentor and trained her to become a mountain climber.
• Tine finally reached the Everest base camp in Nepal. It was divided into four sections.
•Cherring Sherpa accompanied her in the camp. They both managed to reach the final camp.
•Just they were about to take rest when a stormy wind blew their tent and supplies away. They had to spend the night in a borrowed tent.
•Next morning, both of them started their journey towards the peak. For every two steps they took, it sent them reeling back a step.
