Why do we ask students to do projects and create productions? How does it reflect on their learning? What student production tasks do you think will benefit your future students?

We ask students to work and create productions in order to establish an opportunity for students to create hands on creations, put their skills to the test, and to occasionally have the chance to present this knowledge their teacher and fellow students!!

This reflects on student learning by allowing an unlimited amount of ideas and opportunities for students to put their knowledge to the test in a variety of ways and choices. When it comes to assigning projects or assignments to students, the options are truly limitless!!

In the future, I intend to teach at either a third or second grade level. When it comes to assigning these types of projects to this age of students, there are endless possibilities. Some ideas that I believe will work the best are creating posters, working hands on with legos or building blocks, or even drawing pictures.

What is the role of student assessment? How can we achieve student centered assessment?&nbsp;<br/>

Student assessment is helpful in the world of education in several ways. Assessment allows us, as educators, to evaluate where our students stand in terms of understanding. Whether this is with a particular lesson or subject. Assessing students and knowing their understanding of something in the classroom can allow teachers to cater more towards that student, change the lesson, or approach that student and ask if they need help in understanding something in class. Overall, this allows for us to gather how well the class as a whole is understanding a certain lesson or the design of that lesson in all. This helps us to know what needs to be addressed or changed in the classroom for the betterment of our students.

How can this be achieved? Teachers can find this information out by providing students with ungraded surprise quizzes or just questioning students on where they stand in a certain subject. Encourage their honesty. There are several other alternative methods in achieving assessment in the classroom as well. The options are limitless.

In my future classroom, I would like to provide students with several opportunities and choices for makerspaces for all different subjects and lesson areas. I can do this by going to the school board and requesting such materials that fit within this category in individual classrooms. This could also be an interesting idea for an after school program, where students can apply their ideas and knowledge of makerspaces outside of the classroom, which allows them to build onto the previous information they have on specific subjects and makerspaces in general.

I want to do this because "Makerspaces" are extremely important in terms of the hands on experience in the classroom. Without makerspace activities and opportunities, students would miss out on several developmental activities in the classroom. Although makerspace activities can be used in several different activities, the science subject heavily relies on the use of these in the classroom. Students will also have the ability of putting these skills to the test in a different media and method with the application of makerspaces in the classroom.

I believe that teachers can help to close the digital gap in a few different ways. Teachers can provide families with information regarding public access to devices, raise funds for schools to provide students with educational resources and devices that can be used at home throughout the school year, or even encourage fundraisers to raise money for such issues. If none of these can be achieved, teachers could lessen the work load on students that require at home digital devices and internet access. In the the future I will try to apply some of these above listed methods in closing the digital gap!!
