A Walk in My Shoes: A Travel Journal to Rio de Janeiro 

Christ the Redeemer is located on top of the Corcovado Mountain. Its height is 130 ft. tall including the pedestal. It opened on October 12, 1931. This statue took 9 year to build, starting from 1922 to 1931. The statue was built to symbolize that Christ loves us all and to spread peace. It was designed by Paul Landowski and made by Heitor da Silva Costa and Albert Caquot. In 2008 and in 2014, lightning did damage to the statue, damaging the fingers and head. Later on, the government fixed the statue. The statue is said to watch the city.

I went to visit the infamous statue of Christ, Christ The Redeemer. It&apos;s super big and it was so cool to be there. I looked like an ant next to it! It reminds me so much of the Statue of Liberty, except it&apos;s in Brazil and its Christ. It&apos;s so cool and many, many people go there to see it as well. It just shows how famous and beautiful it truly is.

This unique museum was inaugurated in 1960 and it has a 14.500 m2 exhibit.  The museum has been standing for about 150 years, and is still one of the most visited landmarks in Brazil. The museum contains one of the largest exhibits in the Americas. The museum is also known as the House of Birds because it contains many varieties of birds in the museum. It has very unique exhibits that allow people to really see the culture and the ways of Brazilian people. It also contains two auditoriums and a laboratory.

The National Museum of the Republic is soooooo amazing! It has such a unique structure, I&apos;ve never seen anything like it. Its a white half-sphere with one of the most historic events that happened in Brazil. I honestly think this is one of the best things I&apos;ve ever seen, What other museum is constructed this way? This has been my favorite museum ever.

Tijuca Forest is a tropical rainforest in Rio de Janeiro. The Tijuca forest is a man-made piece of land that had been cleared and developed to grow sugar and coffee back in the 18th century. It is considered a national park but it&apos;s more like a town since there&apos;s restaurants, parks, chapels, recreation area and statues, it&apos;s what makes it unique. Another fact about the forest is that most of its animals are facing extinction. But other than that, it&apos;s An amazing place to visit.

Tujica Forest is probably the most close I&apos;ve ever been to nature! I loved that it was like a town in a forest, with trees and animals surrounding everything! I didn&apos;t bother to talk much Pictures because I was connecting with nature, probably one of my most favorite nature walks! They had beautiful statues and parks! They had breath taking waterfalls, it was perfect. I thought everything around me was beautiful, and just so amazing because to see all the trees and animals, it makes me realize what I&apos;m missing out on. I love this forest!

This cathedral was designed by Edgar Fonesca. It was built between 1964 and 1979. The cathedral church was built and dedicated to Saint Sebastian, the patron saint of Rio de Janeiro. The church was built in a modern style, Mayan architectural style, that&apos;s what makes it attract huge amounts of people. It took about 14 years to build the church, but it was totally worth it. The cathedral has a height of 264 ft. Inside it, there are 5,000 seats and has a standing room capacity of 20,000 people.

I just visited the Rio De Janeiro&apos;s cathedral! It was so big and beautiful, it was like a huge teepee. I&apos;ve never seen a cathedral so big before and so unique. It&apos;s structure is just something I&apos;ve never seen before. It lights up at night and in the inside is just pure beauty, no wonder it&apos;s a famous landmark! I&apos;d love to come back here and visit with my family. The ceiling of the cathedral is so detailed, it&apos;s something I can&apos;t explain. I hope to come back here and see the beautiful cathedral again!

Sugarloaf Mountain is located at the Guanabara Bay. This mountain has a height of 1299 ft. above sea level. The mountain got its name from blocks of sugar when Brazil traded sugar with the Portuguese. Blocks of sugar were placed in molds made of clay. The shape of these molds looked like the mountain, making its name &quot;sugarloaf&quot;. This mountain is mainly made of quartz and monolithic granite. It also has a cable car that runs from this mountain to the peak of Morro Da Urca and gives a 360 degree view of the whole city!

I just went to visit Sugarloaf Mountain! It&apos;s such a beautiful place and it&apos;s so cool. What I found funny about it is its name. I heard that it was back in the 16th century where they sold sugar cane there and that&apos;s where it got its name. Pretty cool to learn about it! I alas went rock climbing on it, it was kind of scary but I was so excited! It was amazing to see the whole city from thousands of feet above the ground! It really is amazing.

Copacabana is known as the most famous beach in the world because it runs along the Atlantic Ocean for 3 miles. The beach was originally named Sacopenapã which means &quot;the way of the socos&quot;, but its name was later changed during the mid-18th century. Hotels, restaurants, bars, night clubs, and residential buildings run along the beach. New Year&apos;s Eve is always celebrated at Copacabana since the 1950&apos;s and it brings people from all over the world. It is also the host of the FIFA beach soccer World Cup too!

I took a trip to copacabana beach! It was the best experience because it&apos;s so relaxing! Their buildings are seen and it&apos;s a beautiful view. There was a lot of people and I had so much fun! There was this historic fort at the south end of the beach and it was built in 1914, it was very cool. What I loved about it too was that so many people were playing beach soccer and I wanted to play along as well! This is probably one of my favorite beaches!
