Firefly

In the late evening the firefly will flash a yellow light to communicate with other fireflies.

My name is Apsana. I am 8 years old. I am in second grade. I am a girl. I live in the city Rochester in New York State. I have 4 people in my family. I like to play with my friends. I like to play hide and seek. My Birthday is in February 10 2010

The fireflies live in humid warm areas of the world by the edges of streams, ponds and ditches.

The fireflies have three body parts they are head, thorax, abdomen, and they also have an exoskeleton. They have six legs and an antennae . They also light up at night.

The fireflies have complete metamorphosis.  The four stages are egg, larva, pupa and adult. The egg are put in the ground and hatch  in  about a month. They hibernate during the winter. 

The fireflies are solitary because they work alone.

Fireflies are a friend because they don’t bite. Also they don’t attack or carry poisonous diseases. 

Fireflies can light up to be green, yellow or orange.
