Butterflies

There are over 15,000 kinds of butterflies in the world.

My name is Ilan Hassan. I am eight years old. l am in second grade. I am a girl. I  Iive in Rochester, New York.  l have 7 people in my family.  I like to visit my grandmother when I am not in school.

The butterfly has 3 body parts, the head, thorax and abdomen. They have wings and antennae.

Butterflies live on all continents except the polar region.

Butterflies are friends. They are also our friends because they pollinate. They also make the world more colorful.

Monarch butterflies fly up to 2,000 miles to Mexico.

Butterflies have complete metamorphosis, egg, caterpillar, chrysalis and adult.

The butterfly is Solitary. They spend most of their adult life alone.
