If I hadn’t noticed the difference between the prescription and the actual tablets, my grandmother could have taken a dangerous overdose of Kendomol. I would be worried about getting any future prescriptions at Eden Hill.&nbsp; The pharmacist apologised and corrected the mistake but I wanted to bring it to your attention. I think it happened because there were not enough staff on duty. I understand that mistakes happen but there needs to be a minimum of two pharmacists at all times so all prescriptions can be checked. In the first channel producers sell directly to consumers, with telesales, online shopping, mail order catalogues and websites; in the second one manufacturers can reach their consumers through large retailers like department stores;

In the third channel the wholesaler buys big stocks from the producer; in the last channel the manufacturer is supported by a sales representative, this person has to offer support and solve problems.

The advantages of e-commerce are: - The online shop is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. - Setting up an online shop is very cheap and fast. - No licenses are required.&nbsp; - People can buy goods from all over the world. - Usually in an online shop the goods cost less. - It’s very easy to compare prices.

The disadvantages of e-commerce are: - The consumers can’t touch or try the goods before they buy it. - The products have to be stored in big spaces, like warehouses. - Online shops have to compete with other stores all over the world. - In the websites of small companies, the consumers can find fake offers. - The products can arrive damaged. - In some online shops, you can’t return items for free.

Companies operate in different sectors: the primary, secondary, tertiary, quaternary and quinary sectors. - In the primary sector those companies are involved in obtaining raw materials. - In secondary sector those companies process or assemble raw materials and turn them into finished products. - In the tertiary sector those companies that provide or sell goods and services to business or people. - In the quarternary those companies deal with intellectual activities. - In the quinary those companies deal with the highest levels of decision-making in a society or economy.

This is a mix of the two systems mentioned above. Most economic activity is private but in some sectors such as healthcare, education ecc. the State is directly involved to ensure that everyone obtains these services. The State also takes care of the market activity and makes sure that the companies do not engage in illegal practices.

In this system the state makes a plan over several years that decides what will be produced, where and when and who is going to receive these goods and at what price.

Business activity and business organisation

With the term business activity we mean all those economic activities aimed at producing, selling, buying, renting or investing, undertaken by a commercial or manufacturing organisation. A business organisation should provide products that satisfy a costumer's needs, wants and fulfil their demands.

The business plan is used in a company to anticipate problems and helps to deal with them. It may also give essential information to prospective investors.

It is a complete description of a business and it contains its goals for the coming three years.

It explains: - what the business does or will do (if it is a new business) - its marketing strategies - the future financial requirements

E- commerce stands for electronic commerce. The term indicates all types of commerce that happen online.

Online shopping The most common type of e-commerce is online shopping. This is when companies sell products to an end consumer through a website. The site must be easy to use. Here you can see the products, read their description and buy them. The products that you have ordered will arrive at your home through a transport service.

E-commerce platform&nbsp; For the companies, the easiest way to create a website is to use an e-commerce platform. The most famous are Wix and Shopify. They usually cost 5 or 10 euros a month. Companies can also sell their items on existing websites like eBay and Amazon.&nbsp;Here it doesn’t have to worry about creating or maintaining a website, but the cost (fees) are much higher.

B2B e-commerce Not only consumers buy online. Business to business (B2B) e-commerce means that companies sell their goods to another company using a website.

The present perfect tense refers to an action or state that either occurred at an indefinite time in the past (e.g., We have talked before) or began in the past and continued to the present time (e.g., He has grown impatient over the last hour).

This tense is formed by have/has + the past participle.

It is usually believed that commerce and trade are the same thing and that the terms can be used interchangeably but this is not the case.

Commerce is a wider term that includes the exchage of goods together with all those services which help facilitate such an exchange from the manufacturer to the final consumer.

Trade is a branch of commerce that deals with the exchange of goods and sevices between two or more parties

Trade is divided into: domestic trade and international trade. Domestic trade is an international trade or home trade.This has the advantage of having to deal with local currency , regulations and tax system as well as culture.

Domestic trade can be divided into wholesale trade and retail trade. International trade refers to goods that are sold freely between different countries.

This is an example of the structure of a complaint letter we read in class.

Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing to express my dismay at the service at your Eden Hill branch on Saturday 14 January. I often collect prescriptions from the pharmacy on behalf of my grandmother, Mrs Elaine Bingham. On this occasion there were two prescriptions: one for 10 x 50 mg Kendomol and one for 50 x 100 mg Leoprone. I was served quickly even though there appeared to be only one pharmacist on duty. However, as I was leaving I saw that I had been given 500 mg tablets of Kendomol. This is ten times stronger than the prescription called for.&nbsp;

Agenda Introduction

The 2030 Agenda is universal, transformative and rights-based. It is an ambitious plan of action for countries, the UN system, and all other actors. The Agenda is the most comprehensive blueprint to date for eliminating extreme poverty, reducing inequality, and protecting the planet.

The Agenda has 17 goals to safeguard the planet and the people, reduce poverty and inequality, increase peace, prosperity and partnership.

There are four elements involved in the creation of a product or a service: - LAND: includes all kinds of natural resources: soil, seas and mountains. We can use natural resources to create objects for a more comfortable life. - LABOUR: consists of workers’ physical and mental effort. - CAPITAL: includes the money invested in production and capital goods&nbsp;&nbsp; - ENTREPRISE: refers to the skills and risk-taking ability of people who set up a business. An entrepreneur is a person who perceives market opportunities, takes risks and provides a product or service by investing capital and hiring the workforce.&nbsp;

Goal n.1 calls for an end to poverty in all its manifestations by 2030 everywhere.

The first goal of the agenda 2030 makes sure that the entire population and especially the poorest and most vunerable have equal rights to economic recources and access to basic services.

Every country has a different economic system which is decided by the Government of each country. There are three ways of categorising economic systems:
