Driving driving driving Windows up windows down Same fields of green flying by outside my window Boring boring boring Gravel scratches on tires We are here finally! Scramble out of the car Bolt towards the house Then we see him and the world melts away Small fluffy wiggly He gallops with this little paws across the field to see us Squirmy little puppy Jumps up to give us kisses In our car, driving home He crawls all over us Snuggles and love My first puppy!

My worldview simile Inching towards understanding Growing like a flower, vibrant and small Every year changing My worldview is like the vibrant leaves of fall My worldview expands with my experiences Is shaped by things I read in books It could be swayed by a simple phone call Watching one documentary could have it easily overtook

Army of worldview A personification poem He walks into the room Smile on his face he beckons at them There they stand Millions of people Rows and rows Suddenly they burst into the room Personalities The only thing defining them are their glasses Happy, Sarcastic, upset They each see events differently The lenses warping their view of events A balloon in the sky could be cheerful to one yet tragic to another Shocking, dull, hopefully

Serene Forest An imagery poem Towering trees Bright blue sky The smell of pine the smell of dirt Thick mud beneath my boots The trickling stream Rough broken bark The curious squirrel A fearful frightened bird

The tree of knowledge An extended metaphor Knowledge is similar to a tree in many ways It starts of with the seed of a question and as you nurture it it begins to grow As it begins to grow it branches off The branch starts small and green and as the tree of knowledge grows the branch gets bigger begins to grow a layer of bark until it it so secure you know for sure that it will last Leaves of information grow on the branch but as time goes on the leaves change and slowly begin to rot away until they fall from the tree of knowledge and becomes an empty thought

Self portrait I am a person Who loves my dog Who likes to get outside and hike I like to be with my friends I love to bake and try new recipes I like to swim in lakes I love the dozens of freckles that are scattered across my face I love the sunshine and sunny weather I like to plant flowers and watch them grow It’s the simple things that make me happiest And I love feeling happy I love to fantasize about my future But I also enjoy the feeling of nostalgia that you get when you think of your past I love the warm summer air But I also like the crispy air of autumn Most of all I love my family

The river A found poem A river so long and winding An amber hued belt of sand hills The dark blue gulf below Shadings of crocus and rose The pond ran up to the fringing groves of fir and maple A wild plum tree leaned out from the bank At the head of the pond came the clear sweet chorus of the frogs

A haiku for Loki I love my puppy I adore his dark pink nose He is so fluffy He dashes through grass Chases his big orange ball Pounces on a stick Gulps down his kibble He laps water from his dish Smacks his lips loudly
