If that little voice inside your head is telling you that something isn’t ‘quite
right’ about your baby, toddler or preschooler’s development, DON’T WAIT to reach out for information and help.  The early years of a child’s life are very important to their development, so don’t wait to see if your little one will ‘outgrow’ that concern.

Do you have concerns about your child’s development?
Do you wonder about how your child walks, talks,
hears, sees, plays with toys or responds to others?

It’s never too early or too late to reach out for support.
Speak to your child’s health care provider or
call our Early Childhood Team.
What happens after I reach out about my child?
With parent permission, an early intervention provider will meet with you and your child to discuss their development and determine how to best support your family. COP ESD is committed to providing high-quality intervention services to families of children ages 0–5. All children grow and change, and we acknowledge the value of early intervention services for all children who are at risk of delay or need support. Early Intervention Providers use a coaching model during visits to help parents and other caregivers interact with their child in ways that support learning and development

Early Intervention Services
Our focus is to support you in helping your child learn and participate in the things you do and places you go. You will be provided guidance and support on how to use everyday routines to promote learning so that your child is receiving the best quality intervention.
Early On® Michigan offers early intervention services for infants and toddlers, birth to three years of age, with developmental delay, risk of delay or disabilities, and their families.  Services are provided in the child’s natural environments, including the home and community settings.
Early On Services –Birth to 3
Tapestry Services – Birth to Kindergarten
General services are available in the home to support caregivers and promote child development.  Parents are their child’s first and most important teacher. Together we will work on family goals that are important for your child’s development and help the family find other resources and services as needed.
Pre-school / Ages 3-5 Services
Services for this age group are provided in an educational setting that may include playgroups, day care, and/or preschool.  Services are designed to support and meet your child’s developmental needs to succeed in an educational environment.
Great Start Collaborative- Parent Coalition
The Great Start Collaborative (or GSC) supports kids and families ages pre-birth to school age.  Together community leaders, parents, local agencies, and many others provide support and opportunities that empower families.
