Day 1. In the distance, far away from the city, it couldn't be stopped. It was on its way, hidden by the cover of night. Day 2. By now, it had reached the city. The arms of destruction held people close, not allowing them to be witnesses. Day 3. Some saw. Only some. But it wasn't enough; its arms continued to reach out holding people even closer, its only intent to destroy. Day 4. It was over. People were dead. The city was a transparent heap of ruin.

Sprouting As I look up to see how much I can be Taking my time to reevaluate who I can be Surrendering my eyes for the secret trees that grow upon me As I stare to the ground walking with shame because I want to reclaim my value Nobody wants a short sprout so why shall I walk with pride and hold my head up I'm considered a coward in everyone's eyes I'm considered a liar because I tell them 1 day I will grow But that day has never come To those that close their eyes and dream like myself Wake up to be waiting for things to change So I shall wait on my sprouting stage

As I step into the room&nbsp; I see that the walls are lined with TV'S&nbsp; With some being larger than others&nbsp; And then without warning,&nbsp; They spring to life and walk towards me&nbsp; I back into a wall and realize that they're playing videos of me Moments from which I cried myself to sleep&nbsp; Wondering why I wasn't good enough&nbsp; To me laughing and smiling&nbsp; As I embrace what is mine&nbsp; They reflect certain points in my life&nbsp; I'm proud of the progress I made along the way&nbsp; And the progress I'll continue to make as I become the best version of myself

About this book... Dreaming in the Moonlight is a collaboration between a Dreamer's Mind and the Lunar Book Club. It is a literary anthology with original works by the members of both clubs and their sponsors. In this collection you will find various types of poetry, short stories as well as links to excerpted passages of longer stories. Enjoy!

The Mind of the Counterintuitive by Kyle Britto Summary: The Mind of the Counterintuitive¨follows a young man named Nolan Grey. A recent college dropout and a heavy addict, due to his issues of Maladaptive Daydreaming disorder, his disorder has always been a curse. It has pushed away the friends and the families he holds most dear. Irony is cruel-- the treatment to suppress what he has; actually makes it stronger. Maladaptive daydreaming has always been something that Nolan believes was in and had always been in his head... until the things he daydreams about becomes true in a certain form. He sees a woman that calls to him from the day he first had his disorder. As events start unfolding that may prove his disorder is not what he perceives, he begins seeking out to find the world he sees in his dreams, and to find the people that maybe have been calling him. But the farther he daydreams, the more out of touch he may become of reality.

A Dreamer's Mind : A Dreamer's Mind began in 2020 with a small group of talented women, who are poets and writers. They have great ideas, wonderful pens, and wonderful imaginations. A Dreamer's Mind is open to writers of poetry of all kinds, monologues, and musical lyrics. Lunar Book Club: Created by Autumn Noell and Chura Fenderson in October 2019 to bring together those who commonly share their love of reading. Club members select a book to read together and share their thoughts and questions about the book at meetings. The Lunar Book Club also creates its own stories! Some of them are collaborative; all the members come together and create one story. Others are created after picking a genre out of a hat, making storytelling more of a challenge. Lunar Inclusive to all, Lunar Book Club is a safe space for those who need it.

Dreaming in the Moonlight: A collabotation of A Dreamer's Mind and the Lunar Book Club with a collection of poems with a variety of themes (trust, failure/fear of failure, inner emotions, growth &amp; self-evolution, and a freestyle). This collection taps into the Dreamer's Club emotions, life, past, and more. The collection also showcases the writing talents of the Lunar Book Club with exceprts from their creative minds.

Waiting for Beauty&nbsp; by Sheila Phillips I bought a Christmas Cactus during the holiday season of the same A very strange looking and ironic plant Flat, green, smooth leaf-like stems Soft spined succulent Not much like the spiky unwelcoming cacti image. I put it in a poinsettia cup, a gift from a Secret Santa Fitting, I think. Looking forward to her beautiful white blossoms, I waited for her to flower. A season passed&nbsp; No blooms.&nbsp; And then another season of waiting. Questioning myself, I wondered, what did I do wrong? Not enough water Too much water Not enough sun Too much sun Plants can be finicky like that, like a cat.

One day, in the winter after the next Christmas I saw them Three small buds appeared. “Hello,” I said, “I’ve been waiting a long time for you.” “Hello,” they replied and then bid me adieu. They did not have much to say since they were just buds. I waited for weeks and that was all I got. A quick “Hello” then back to sleep. Then one day, seemingly overnight, the buds grew bigger. Again I said “Hello. Look at you.” “Hello,” they said. “Keep waiting. We have a surprise for you.” A few mornings later, the first bloom appeared, glorious in soft white and pale pink.&nbsp; “Good morning,” I said smiling at her. “You are spectacular.”&nbsp; “Thank you,” she replied blushing. “I am sorry we took so long. We are growing a little each day Waiting for the right time to blossom.” “You are worth waiting for.” A little time later, her sisters joined her. Each day I smile at the Christmas Cactus blossoms And they smile back with their soft petals more glorious than&nbsp; Birds of Paradise.

Again I greeted them with an appreciative “hello.” I asked,&nbsp; “Why did you take so long to grow?” The elder of the three replied to me, “We’ve&nbsp; been growing the whole time You just can’t see it on the inside. The Sun, water and food and constant care Transforms me into something beautiful Just like you.” The petals are starting to wither Soon it will be time to say “so long” I tell them I will miss them. “Don’t be sad. We will see you again soon When the time is right and we are ready after the birth of the Son.” Until then, I will keeping watering and feeding and nourishing And waiting for the next transformation. And she will wait for mine.

"It's getting worse and worse and you know it!" "And you think I don't know that?" He shook his head, waving a dismissive hand. "Forget I said that. Can you do something for me, William?" "Sure." His tone sounded dubious, impassive, but he thought nothing of it. "Write a letter to them. That will show our desperation, our need for this to happen." "Consider it done, good sir. I'll write it by tomorrow afternoon." "Perfect. Thank you, William."

"W-Will," he stuttered out, his eyes wide in fear, in utter disbelief. Will sat in a chair by the fire, staring intently at the flames. At the call of his name, he turned in his seat. "Yes?" He gasped at the formality, the audacity of his question. But who was really to blame here? He didn't know. "William, you did right that letter to them, yes?" he asked, his voice strained. He took in a ragged breath; it had already gotten him, and it was not going to let go. Will looked back at him for a moment more, his gaze level and unwavering, before turning away to stare back at the fire. Something burned, slowly, quietly. Will sighed and leaned back in his chair. "Yes, I wrote it."

Around her, the world of her dreams burned, and she was forced to watch. She called out to them, the friends she had come to love dearly, and was met with silence. "Please," she whispered into the wind. Tears stained her cheeks as she reached into the darkness. "Please." And then she called out one name. A name that would haunt her until the end of her days.
