I was always told I was a white girl
But knew deep down my own inheritance
An Australian Indigenous, said my parents
Constantly criticised on my appearance
Who are you to say I’m not aboriginal
Because the colour of my skin is white
And I myself don’t believe in who you call Christ
Educate your kids Australia
Get them to change their behaviour
Mother of land is who I believe in, regardless of my skin

Sitting on the sand dunes, my eyes widen as a giant raft cuts through the waves. My heart was beating out of my chest because I had no idea what the humongous object sailing over the horizon was. I had so many thoughts rushing through my brain, they were like a rapid river. Out of the corner of my eye all I saw was my family racing out of the bush to see what the giant object was, they were all shocked. The raft got bigger and bigger as it got closer to the land. I saw the raft slow down and all I heard was the clunking of the raft and the creaking of the old rusty parts. The humongous raft was a beast lurking towards our land. They were like a colony of ants spewing out of the beast’s mouth. They all marched towards me and then there we were face to face.

As I walk around the dusty path I can see my kids running around cheerfully while they play tag. I start to hear an engine and then I start to see a big brown wooden wagon starting to approach us. I throw a rock at the shadow of the wagon to see if it was only my imagination. Suddenly I hear a “Thump”. I then franticly call out to my kids then one of them run into my arms and scream “My sis is gone”. I then feel a weight on my back I turn around and it was my son Tim in the background. I hear a worried scream I start to tear up as I notice the scream is saying don’t take me from my mum. I start to glare at a tall white man in a black cotton and polyester suit with black shiny boots with white laces. I stand and I feel a grasp of my kids I fall to the ground in a puddle of tears and see the wagon drive away as I scream in tears “My kids are gone.“

Stolen Child
My child has been stolen
I feel empty
It happened when the sky was golden
There was pain a plenty
I tried to save him
But my world concaved in
I thought to myself
“Is this real?”
I can’t believe my child has been stolen
I have to get him back
I am nothing without him
As I search the city for days
And nights
We found nothing
No traces
Nothing!
As I fell to the ground
Balling my eyes out
I will never see my son ever
Again

The Arrival of the First Fleet

One day my two brothers and I were sitting at the beach, playing in the cold, wet sand. Then a big raft came, cutting through the small tough waves. When the big raft reached the shore heaps of people like us, but white, came piling out. They held mysterious sticks on their waists. I closed my eyes and turned around as they walked towards me. I heard them walk right past me, but then one of them came up to me up to me and asked something, but I didn’t understand. So he walked off with the rest of them. They came back with stick and with a bit of colourful cloth on it. They dug it into the ground and stood there and looked at it. The next day I was sleeping and I woke up to a big bang! I walked outside to see the people using their mysterious sticks, fire came out and a small rock came out and hit my Dad in the chest. I ran back inside in shock and told my two brothers. We held onto each other as we waited for what would happen next…
