To get here I was on a trip for fourteen days. I was travelled in cars and small buses. We never had any rest because they told us it was dangerous and we needed to keep moving. So I did not know much of where I was. I was traveling sometimes for more than 20 hours; we left very early to make the journey faster. Sometimes we went out at dawn at 1 am or at 3 am, sometimes we only rested for a few hours in a house. We didn't spend much time there; sometimes we didn't eat on the trip; we just ate snacks and that's it. One time we did not eat for a very long time. But one we got to out destination, they waited for us with a table full of food and it was super delicious.Loading...

Before ArrivalLoading...
After all the long trips, we arrived at a hotel in Mexico City. We stayed in that hotel for about 3 days. After that, we went back to another state and spent about a week in a house with other people. After that, they gave us passports from Mexico. We traveled by plane for 4 hours that I spent sleeping. Then we reached the border where we were traveling almost all day and then at nightfall we were able to go to immigration. We were in a room that they call "Hielera." Then we travelled to some immigration barracks and after a few days they let us leave and for my birthday we arrived in NC where I would eventually live.Loading...

After Arrival
I'm still adapting to a new culture. I haven't made many friends but I'm fine; I'm happy with my family so that's enough. In the time I've been here, I've seen many places which I hardly like because it's too cold. I have grown up since in my country it is also very hot, here I have learned many different things and met people that I did not think I would meet; there are many people from different countries, and I like that since I also learn from them.

My New Friends
First Day In School
My first day of school almost nothing nice happened! Since I didn't know English just the little they taught me in my country. I didn't know anyone, and I didn't know how things were in US schools; it was so different from my school in my country where I had to go out to lunch. Everything seemed strange to me because the food was not what I ate in my home school; I did not like the food because it was something that I did not eat very often. Going home time in the afternoon was very difficult for me to find the bus, though I knew my address very well, but I wasn't very sure of my bus stop and I was very afraid of getting lost because I didn't have a cell phone either. I didn't know the lanes in my neighborhood but in the end I had to get used to it.
First Day In School (My second School)
My first day at my second school was somewhat easier since I already knew what it was like. I had to move to another school because my address changed. What was annoying was the people who took me left for another school. I had a classmate that I already knew from the other school, and in this other school it was easier for me to have friends. I continued studying with some and talking with others and now I am about to finish school and it has been fine.
My Future Dreams
My name is Angie Nicole Guerrero. I am a Honduran and in the future I want to be a doctor. I want to go to study in Cuba because from what I have researched there I could become a very good doctor. Or I could take up a nursing career. I want to finish my career and then return to the United States and build a stable home for myself. I want to have only two children. I want to always depend on myself and do things for myself myself.
I want to have three children, a very big house, I also want it to be in a residence near the sea or in Miami, in my future I also want to study plastic surgery, that would be another career that I would pursue and that is what I would like for my future.
