Umut's Mysterious Journey

One day, a 10-year-old boy named Umut receives a letter from his grandfather who lives in the island of France, in the Indian Ocean. In the letter, his grandfather invites Umut to Reunion Island for an adventurous summer. Excitedly, Umut packs his suitcase and gets on the plane. Before the plane lands, he sees the Piton de Neiges, the tallest mountain of the island. The plane lands at Saint Denis airport where his grandfather comes to meet him.&nbsp;

When they reach the highest point of the forest, the view is spectacular. He can see all the beauties of the island. However, he feels something is missing. He doesn't know what exactly it is but he can feel it. They are looking for the cave. They have difficulty in finding the mysterious cave because its entrance is covered with lush green creepers and branches but finally they manage to find themselves in front of the cave. As they move into the cave, Umut feels the island’s temperate climate even more, breathes the scent and thinks how much he loves this beautiful island. The cave resembles a fascinating labyrinth extending into the depths of the island. The echoing sounds of water and stones of different colours within the cave captivate Umut. While Segael points out the crystal formations at the entrance of the cave, his grandfather provides information about the formation of the cave.

Slowly progressing, the play of light and the shape-shifting shadows inside the cave spark Umut's imagination. As they move deeper into the cave, the colourful sparkle of minerals and crystals on the walls are dazzling. Segael mentions that some rooms of the cave are filled with special plant species, representing the island's endemic flora.

At dawn, Umut, Segael, and their grandfather board the train heading to Corniglia. When they arrive, they are amazed by the beauty of the place. The landscape before them is simply stunning: colourful houses clinging to the cliff, overlooking a sparkling sea under the sun's rays. Dazzled by the beauty of this village of the Cinque Terre region, they climb the stairs leading to the church. A woman is waiting for them and immediately leads them aside. She says, 'I am Enrico Vaso-di-Fiori's assistant. I am tasked with taking you to him. He lives in one of those houses clinging to the cliff. Follow me.' The house seems welcoming. They knock on the door, and Enrico opens it immediately. They settle on the terrace, drinks are served to them. Then Enrico begins his story.&nbsp;

The friends find the safe and they insert the secret number; the mystery is nearly to be solved! The door of the safe opens but…inside there is only a large yellow quartz! 	“Ehi, look, there’s another small note! Umut says.&nbsp; 	Neuschwanstein Castle, Bavaria…there you will find me! 	“So, what are you waiting for? We are here all together to save the Nature! Come on, let’s go to Bavaria and find this evil wizard!” Grandpa says. They all rush to Berlin Hauptbahnhof and get on a train to Munich; there they get on a taxi and finally, tired but happy, they arrive at Neuschwanstein Castle.

Umut woke up in his own bedroom and saw a photo of a beautiful Kebab place. It seemed to be somewhere in Turkey. "Where was that?" he wondered. "Was it just a dream?" He stood up and a new day began. THE END

After days of searching, Umut and his friends manage to put together all 20 foods that Berschus requested. With great satisfaction, they take the dishes to the magician and ask him to give them the stones as promised. 	“I can’t believe my eyes, you managed to complete my challenge! How fool are you! Do you think it would be so easy?” laughs the evil wizard. “I’m giving you the other yellow quartz, as a part of my promise…but I’ve got another request for you! You need to take me also a special kebab; if you are able to bring me the best one I’ve ever tried, I will give you all the stones!”

"My dad makes the best Kebab in town. So enjoy yourself! But first try this tasty Baklava." Tuba was really glad that she could show her friends all the tasty dishes she enjoyed every day living here. "Oh, really?" Umut was surprised. "But tell us, what exactly is BAKLAVA?" "It is something to eat, some kind of dessert created with nuts and honey. It is sweet and yummy!" Tuba replied. The European friends were sitting together in the kitchen of the Kebab place in the central part of the city of Istanbul. They ate until ten o'clock in the evening.

Umut cannot comprehend how time passes on this pearl of nature, Reunion Island. One day, one of his new friends, named Segael, suggests discovering Belouve Forest. The next day, Umut, his grandpa and Segael set forward to the forest. On the way, Segael tells Umut the mysterious legends of the island. She mentions the mysterious Reunion Harrier statue in the depths of the forest with its red diamond eyes. According to the legend, this harrier is the guardian of the island and can see every part of it through its red diamond eyes. As Umut is walking in the forest, he is once again mesmerised by the exotic plants and colourful birds around him.&nbsp;

“My name is Hans Zimmer and I’m here from Berlin. I’m passionate about antiques and old legends and one day, while I was studying an old text in the Alte Bibliothek, I found this note saying: if you find the correct combination of the safe in the Pergamon Museum, you will be able to save the world’s nature. You know, I really want to find the treasure hidden inside it. Would you like to be my partners in this search?” “Of course, this idea is really exciting but…are you sure this note refers to us?” grandpa says. Hans smiles and says: “Sure, at the back of it I can read something… Hello nature savers who come from far far away, I bet you won’t be able to solve the case and I’ll be the greatest wizard ever!” “Ok Hans it’s a great idea, we are going on this adventure with you: together we can be smarter and we can join our minds and defeat the bad wizard”, says Segael. “Show me this combination, I’m sure we can help!” says Umut. “Ok guys, I’ll show you the note I found”:

The castle is known for its fairytale-like and romantic architecture inspired by medieval castles mixed up with fantastic elements and elaborate decorations; it is situated on a rocky hill and offers a spectacular view of the surrounding mountains and the valley below. 	“It’s wonderful!” says Umut “like a fairytale!” Seagal is very excited: “Let’s go inside, I want to find the wizard!” 	The group starts moving around the great halls of the castle, located in southern Germany, near the village of Füssen, in the region of Bavaria. It is full of armours, pictures and old antiques, but the wizard is nowhere to be found. “I think we must explore the basement of this castle, come on friends, I’ll guide you!”, says Hans. 	They start walking down very long spiral stairs and they arrive in an old library, full of dusty books; they start touching all the books until they find a hidden passage&nbsp; that leads to an old creepy door; they manage to open it and inside they finally see Berschus, the evil wizard who has stolen the magic stones to enhance his power.&nbsp;

Approaching his grandfather, Umut exclaims, "grandpa, this place is truly incredible! Exploring the beauty of the island has been an unforgettable experience for me.” His grandfather smiles and adds "yes, my child, nature truly provides us with enchanting memories. Like the statue of Reunion Harrier that they say is the guardian of the island, we should protect and respect the beauties of the island.”&nbsp;

They looked for clues, but for hours they found nothing. Umut then discovered something strange: a yellow rock with frogs sitting on the top. One of the frogs had a golden back and they all fought for one fly. Umut took the letter that was next to the rock. It said: "You are fools. You need to go to Turkey! haha..." So the group went to the airport and checked in for a flight to Istanbul. They travelled for about 3-4 hours. After landing they found the exit and left the huge airport building.

Grandpa, Segael and Umut are ready to go to Italy

“I only know that he’s hiding in Berlin!”. The friends immediately leave for Germany, because they really want to find the dark wizard and save nature as soon as possible. Berlin is an enormous city and it’s really easy to find a place to hide: where is the dark wizard hiding? Umut remembers that he read something at school about the Pergamon Museum; it’s a great museum on Museuminsel in Berlin, full of old antiques, and so the group decide to go there and have a look around. They are looking on a map how to get to the museum when they suddenly hear a voice: “Hey, are you strangers here? Do you need help?” They turn around and see a young man, dressed up as an explorer and start wondering about his identity. “Who are you?” asks Umut.

“Uhh I’m really confused, what language is this?” says Umut. “Ahahah we are in Germany, so what do you think? I can translate it into English for you”, says Hans:

"Go to the Ishtar Gate in the Pergamon Museum in Berlin. Count how many animals are there on the front right side of the gate;&nbsp;divide the number in two parts and take the result, this is the first number of the combination. Count the little white spheres on the arch and take this number. Count the vertical yellow lines and that is your fourth digit.&nbsp;And now open the safe!"

The moment they left the airport they saw a beautiful girl in high heels. She wore green trousers and a red top. Umut went to see the girl and said: "You look pretty!" The girl replied: "Oh, thanks! You look nice, too. I'm Tuba!" "Hi Tuba, nice to meet you! My name is Umut!" He looked her in the eyes and blushed.

"Umut, what are you and your friends doing here?" Tuba asked. "We are looking for the best Kebab." Umut replied to Tuba. "There I can help!" Tuba whispered. "Follow me and I can show you where to go." They walked about 20 minutes and during their walk they talked alot. It seemed that they new each other for a long time. They all became friends in a minute. Then they arrived at a beautiful old house in the centre of this beautiful Istanbul. The house was painted blue. With the red flowers in the garden in front of this villa it all looked beautiful, like in a dream.

Much later that afternoon, they go back to their hotel. Exhausted, Umut collapses onto the bed and drifts towards sleep. Suddenly, the phone rings... An unknown number appears. Before Umut can answer, the phone rings again. Worried, he answers and hears a strange voice whispering, 'My name is Jennifer. Meet me tomorrow in the village of Corniglia at 2 p.m. at the Church of San Pietro. Be on time!'"&nbsp;

The only thing they find are a few footprints. Umut follows these tracks and spots a document covered in dirt behind a large rock. He picks it up, examines it, and exclaims, 'Look! It's an Italian passport! It's in the name of Enrico Vaso-di-Fiori.' Segael takes it, reads it, and exclaims, 'And there's even an address in Rome!' Umut's grandfather regains hope: 'It is our duty to find the red diamond eyes to save the island's nature, and now we have a lead... I believe we will eat pizza and pasta!' 'But first,' Umut adds seriously, 'we must solve the mystery of the eyes.'"&nbsp;

As they are walking, they recognise a complex structure with many hidden passages and tunnels inside the cave. At the same time, Segael sees and old map and a mysterious sign on it. As soon as she picks up the map, the hidden passage opens before them. They 	follow the way and see the statue of the great harrier, the protector of the island. No way! The harrier is there but without its red diamond eyes. They look at each other anxiously. They know that the harrier needs its eyes to watch and protect the island, otherwise the nature of the island will not be in peace. Immediately, they start to look for the eyes everywhere. They lift all the stones in the passage and examine all the walls with great care but they can't find the eyes of the harrier. The only thing they find is …&nbsp;

After a long journey, Umut, his grandfather, and Segael land in Rome. 'Grandpa, this place is incredible!' he says. Despite the fatigue, he is very happy to have the chance to see the Colosseum and the forums built by the Roman Empire. Upon their arrival in the Italian capital, they head to the address listed on the passport. They ring the doorbell but no one answers. The house looks abandoned. They question the neighbours, but no one seems to know the man named Enrico Vaso-di-Fiori. Determined to find the Reunion Island sacred guardian’s eyes, the three companions prepare posters to put up around the city: 'Do you know this man? Contact us immediately.'"&nbsp;

While walking inside, a magnificent underground lake appears in front of them. The calm surface of the water in the lake merges with the quiet echoes inside the cave. The moment Umut sees this wonder of nature, he is once again in awe of the natural beauty of the island.&nbsp;

‘I admit, I am the one who stole the red diamond eyes of the Great Harrier. I did it for a really rich collector who did not reveal his identity. But I bitterly regret my decision, because in reality, this man is a dark mage who steals the stones of nature's guardians so he can enhance his own powers... What is happening is awful: I have a friend named Bruno, a naturalist specialist of Abruzzo National Park. He said that for two days now, the animals in the park keep getting sick one after another : Marsican bears, Apennine wolves, lynxes, chamois, deer... He went to the secret location where the statue of the guardian of the region is hidden, the great Wolf, and its blue diamond eyes have also been stolen... It's definitely the work of the dark mage! When he arrives at Reunion Island, he is greeted by the island's exceptional nature. The weather is warm even though it is winter time in Umut's country. He can feel the breeze that is blowing from the rainforests. On the first day, Umut meets his grandfather's friends who are the locals of the island. Listening to the melodies of the kayamb, roulèr and the pikèr is an unforgettable experience for him. In the afternoon, he goes to Saint Pierre beach to swim in the island's crystal-clear sea and discovers the colourful world of fish.

Berschus is wearing a purple robe and holding a mighty sceptre: he challenges Umut and his friends to bring him 20 typical German foods, promising to give them the stones if they complete the challenge.. Determined to get the stones and defeat the wizard, Umut and his friends immediately set to work. 	They begin exploring the local markets, bakeries and traditional restaurants in search of the food that Berschus requested. They taste delicious pretzels, fantastic wurst sausages, cheesy spätzle and many other typical German dishes, homemade beers, traditional desserts such as apple strudel and even the famous Berlin Currywurst. During their search Umut and his friends discover the beauty and richness of German culinary culture.&nbsp;
