It seems like we have experienced every type of weather over recent weeks, but there are shoots of spring and longer, lighter days and much to look forward to.
Welcome to the Spring Term Newsletter.
Spring Half Term Holidays
We break up for half term at 3:15pm on Friday 16th February and return to school on Monday 26th February.
We break up for Easter at 3:15pm on Thursday 28th March (Friday 29th is Good Friday - a Bank Holiday).
We return to school for the summer term on Monday 15th April.
Key Dates for the Spring Term:

Key Dates (continued):

The second half of the spring term will have a focus on our ongoing work around empathy as we take part in Empathy Week again - the first week back after the holidays. Look out for details of how you can get involved in our next Empathy Week project coming soon...

World Book Day is on 7th March. Details around how we will mark this are coming soon, but please note that this will not involve children dressing up so please do not spend time or money on costumes.

Our choir will compete again in the Mayor's Song Contest on Friday 8th March at 6pm in the Dolphin Centre.

In the week beginning 11th March we will have a focus in school on science for Science Week. Your child(ren) will have much to share with you about what they are learning in science.

Year 1 pupils will perform an assembly for their parents / carers on the morning of Wednesday 13th March at 9:30am.

Pupils can, if they wish, celebrate Comic Relief on Friday the 15th March by wearing their red noses in school. This year, noses are suitable for age 3 upwards and can be recycled at home as they are plant based. Please donate directly to this good cause rather than sending money into school.
Year 4 will perform an assembly for their parents / carers on Wednesday 20th March at 9:30am

Reception pupils will perform an assembly for their parents / carers at 2pm followed by a 'share a story' session on 27th March.
Summer Term
Parent / Carer Consultation Meetings

Looking ahead to the first week of the summer term, in school (face to face) Consultation Evenings will be on Wednesday 17th April from 3:30pm. As previously, if you would prefer a telephone or virtual consultation meeting, this can be arranged with your child's class teacher for during the week beginning 15th April.

Remember, if you have a meeting about your child's Special Educational Needs, you do not need a separate consultation meeting.
Some reminders about uniform rules at Reid Street
Please remember to ensure that your child has an appropriate PE kit in school for the day(s) when this is needed.

Other than for PE, pupils should not wear jogging bottoms in school. The uniform allows for:
School trousers
School shorts
School skirts
School dresses - grey or checked red
School culottes

For modesty and warmth, leggings can be worn under short skirts but not on their own.

Please name school uniform as we regularly amass significant amounts of lost property.
