Definition:
Comic Panel 2
The wind energy, as the name implies, is a type of energy derived from the force of the wind, which is converted into work-power (often in the form of electricity).
Comic Panel 3
HISTORICAL BACKGROUND:
Between the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, various scientists focused their studies on the exploitation of wind for energy purposes. The result of their studies is that today, most of the wind energy is produced by turbines and wind turbines.
Comic Panel 1
How is the force of the wind converted into energy?
Electricity is obtained from turbines that transform the movement of the blades moved by the wind into electricity.
As in the paper swivels, so the wind moves the large wind turbines of the turbine creating kinetic energy (i.e. the energy generated by the movement of a body).
The blades are connected to a rotor, in turn connected to a "tree" (placed in the pole), which sends the rotation energy to the electric generator located at the base of the structure. This generator uses some magnets and electromagnetic induction properties to produce an electrical voltage (i.e. a difference in electrical charge) and therefore electrical energy.
There are various types of turbines and various types of blades depending on their size or type of axis.
Wind Energy
in Italy
Comic Panel 1
The great majority of the plants are located in the South, that is where the most windy areas are located. The south and the islands are driving forces for the wind sector in Italy and represent 97% and beyond. less than 3% of the remaining parts of Italy, a production of about 4.3 MW, in particular just under 2% from the center and 1% from the north.

Wind Energy in Emilia-Romagna
Comic Panel 3
Emilia Romagna is a region historically devoid of windmills and with characteristics not conducive to wind-industrial. Production from renewable sources is 3,527.4 GWh; the production mix from renewable sources in the region is made up as follows: 44% bioenergy, 31% solar, 25% hydraulic and 1% wind. Wind powered plants mostly find applications in industrial initiatives for the production and sale of electricity. In fact, the average size of the plants powered by these renewable sources is approximately 2.79 MW.
