The sun beamed through the trees sending beams of sunlight down onto the forest floor. The forest was more alive than ever, boasting with chatter about a magic mushroom.
There was some debate on the existence of the mushroom, some believed it to be absolutely real some though it was fake. Bartholomew the bunny was one of those people, believing that the mushroom was nothing but a fairytale (although he was talking bunny). Every time the magic mushroom was brought up he would snap at them telling them all the reasons why a magic mushroom did not exist. “What’s so great about this mushroom anyway?” Bartholomew sneered. “I heard the mushroom granted powers to however found it!” “I heard it could float!” “I heard it tastes good!” The animals chimed. “Mushrooms can’t do any of those things! Well maybe the last one.” Bartholomew responded “Y’know I’m gonna try to find the mushroom, to prove you all wrong!”. “Alright” they responded. Bartholomew skipped away a bit surprised by their slipshod response, but that didn’t matter. He was going to prove them wrong.
As he made his way out of the forest into the clearing, he realized that he had no idea where he was going. It was too late to go back into the forest, he already had already gone too far. Suddenly Bartholomew heard a rustle behind him, it was a raccoon, maybe she knows where the magic mushroom is Bartholomew thought. “Hey do you know where the magic mushroom is?” He asked the raccoon. “Of course I do, everyone’s been talking about it. You follow the stone path, cross the rushing river, enter the glittering cave and then you should find it” “Wait, if everyone knows where it then why hasn’t no one gone to find it yet?” Bartholomew asked. “Uhh.. I dunno. Anyway, the journey will be long. Take this trail mix with you” The raccoon said tossing Bartholomew a bag of trail mix.

Bartholomew continued down the stone path, munching on M&Ms he had sorted out of his trail mix. When suddenly he bumped into something. Bartholomew looked up to see a huge fox looming over him, it’s fur was tattered and torn, and it’s eyes gleamed an ugly red. Past him was the river, a foaming snake crashing through the reeds. There was no way Bartholomew would ever cross that. As much as he wanted help getting across, he wasn’t getting it from this guy.”Hello there little bunny, What’s your name?” The fox said, his voice creaking.” “ he mumbled.”Huh? What did you sa-“ before the fox finished his sentence Bartholomew had kicked him in the gut. The fox fell with a thud and Bartholomew used his near unconscious body as a bridge to safely cross over the river.
Bartholomew
Bartholomew stood at the entrance of “the glittering cave” peering into the darkness which lied ahead. Bartholomew took a deep breath and entered the darkness. The cave was cold and wet, he could feel cold drops of water fall onto him from time to time. Bartholomew wondered if he had entered the right cave, it wasn’t glittering like the name implied. Suddenly a glint of light caught his eye. He started to walk towards it, his steps echoing off the cave walls. The light grew bigger and bigger until it was clear, it was the MAGIC MUSHROOM. It lay in a bed of moss surrounded by lush ferns and sparkles. The mushroom was a brilliant hue of purple with flecks of white. Bartholomew plucked from the ground and skipped out of the cave. Maybe this mushroom is magic after all he thought to himself. Bartholomew started to make his way back to the forest to apologize for being so close-minded about the mushroom.
