Hello, my name is Antanas. Today we are travelling around Klaipeda city. Let's take a look of six most beautiful sculptures in Klaipeda. Are you ready ? Okay, then let's start our trip !

The Old Town cat

The Old Town cat sculpture is located in Blacksmith street. On this street he started to live in 1980. The sculpture is made of granite and bronze. The sculpture is also called Cat with a Face of a Gentleman. You can take a picture with it or stroke its tail and you will be very lucky!

Magic Mouse

Walk around the streets and you will find "Mouse" sculpture. It is not an ordinary mouse. A modest 17 cm high creature that is made out of bronze and stone is said to be magic according to its‘ creator. Tiny sculpture is decorated with a bronze ‘spell’ band which says: “Convert your ideas into words – words will become magic”. If you whisper the mouse in the "mouse" ear, your wish will come true.

Chain Bridge

Chain bridge is located in Klaipeda, Žvejų Street. Chain Bridge was built in 1855, and is still working today! It is the only mechanism of this kind in Lithuania. The rotation mechanism of the bridge is operated manually. Two people rotate the bridge to open the entrance for ships to the former moat (defensive ditch) of Klaipėda Castle.

The Dragon

Passerby, having turned from Turgaus street to Vežėjų street, is met by dragon, coiled on the wall in front of the gallery „Pėda“. This sculpture is not simple, it tells a legend about the origin of the name of Klaipeda. The legend tells of two brothers who went out in search of a new settlement for their tribe.
