How the Rabbit got its large ears!
How the Rabbit got its large ears.

When the world was formed and new, there was a Rabbit with silky soft fur and short stubby ears. Time after time rabbit had been told not to go out at night but did he listen of course not most nights he would throw nuts at trees or even the odd Bat but what he wanted to hit more than anything was an Owl as night faded and the sun began to rise, Rabbit who was brave and adventurous decided to go and see how Squirrel was doing collecting nuts. Before long, he saw hopping skipping and prancing around desperate to find nuts.
“Hi Rabbit have you got any nuts” Squirrel asked impatiently waiting for an answer.
“Sorry no nuts today” Rabbit replied
Just as he was about to leave squirrel said

“know you really shouldn’t go out at night in case of Owl” He said in a weary tone.
“I will be fine “replied Rabbit

And with that Rabbit disappeared off into the distance. Later that evening he bumped into hedgehog who was sharpening her spines.
“Hi Rabbit” she mumbled.
“you should get inside owl will be out soon” continued Hedgehog.
“He won’t be out for ages” replied Rabbit rudely.
A few hour latter their rabbit sat waiting for Owl to show up then there was a familiar hoot and owl dived down wards Rabbits heart raced as he desperately tried to find some where to hide. As he hid in the rotting log he could he hear Owl swoop off into the distance just as he thought Owl was gone he grabbed rabbit by his ears. And darted off into the sky. The more he struggled the tighter owls grip became. Finally, Owl gave up leaving Rabbit plummeting to the ground luckily, he grabbed on to a branch. The next day   Squirrel came and rescued him and he noticed that Rabbit came and noticed his large ears he had. And to this day rabbits have long ears all because of the incident that happened at the beginning of the world.
