Our wraparound care is run by our team of friendly and caring Teaching Assistants:

Breakfast Club We offer a daily Breakfast Club between 08.00 and the start of the school day, for children in our Reception to Year 6 classes. There is a charge of £3.00 per child, which is paid for via ParentPay.

Sessions maybe booked either weekly or termly in advance. We have an online form to do this.

After School Club Our wraparound care after school club is open daily between the end of the school day to 17:15 for all children in our Reception and Year 6 classes. There is a minimum charge of £3.00 for the first hour and then £0.75 per 15minutes

or part of, thereafter, paid for via ParentPay. Sessions can be booked weekly or termly in advance.

We are the Reception Class Teachers!

I'm Miss Pollard and I will be teaching you every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, when you join us in September.

I'm Mrs Richards and I will be teaching you on a Thursday and Friday.

We like to make our learning fun and we do lots of creative activities in class, in our outdoor learning area and in our story garden. From wake and shake in the morning to story time at the end of the day, our aim is to ensure every child achieves their best and has fun along the way...

We are supported by the lovely Mrs Hunter, whose skills in music, arts and PE ensure our days are filled with creativity, rhythm and bounce!

We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Curriculum. This document sets out the standards that all Early Years providers must meet to ensure the children learn and develop well and are kept healthy and safe. It promotes teaching and learning and gives the children the broad range of knowledge and skills they need to develop into independent learners, building a foundation for future achievement and progression through school and beyond. We nurture a 'love for learning' here at Nansloe and each term have a specific topic upon which our learning is based taught through an exciting range of activities that both engage and excite.

Hello, I am Lucy Swiggs and I have the pleasure of being our Head of School when you start in September. On behalf our our amazing children and dedicated staff, I would like to welcome you to Nansloe Academy. We are a small and friendly infant and primary primary school in Helston with a maximum class size of 30 children. Our aim is to provide a happy and caring learning environment where everyone is shown respect and feels valued. Children are treated as individuals and their strengths are celebrated.&nbsp;Our curriculum is challenging, enriching and supportive to ensure that our children develop into confident individuals achieving their full potential.

Trauma Informed Schools UK is a registered community interest company working in association with the Centre for Child Mental Health. It provides training to ensure that every adult in a school or community has the skills and understanding to respond appropriately to the relational and emotional needs children may display. TiS supports schools to create a mentally healthy environment and culture in which all within the school community, adults and children alike, can flourish and achieve. It advocates a whole school response and evidenced based relational approaches to provide an enriched environment to buffer the impact of stress that may&#160;result from adversity and painful life events. In addition, specially trained Trauma and Mental Health Informed Practitioners offer targeted intervention&#160;to&#160;children who may be experiencing challenges within their life that without support may act as a barrier to&#160;their ability to fully engage with life and learning.&#160;

"Tapestry keeps you in touch with your child&#8217;s day wherever you are"

Tapestry is an easy-to-use and secure online learning journal that helps staff and families across Aspire academies celebrate their children&#8217;s learning and development both at school and home. &#160; Tapestry facilitates this by enabling a personal journal that builds over time. Photographs, videos and notes of special moments will be made available regularly to you via your iPhone or Android App. &#160; More details on how to activate your Tapestry account will be shared once your child starts.

Our school dinners are provided by Aspens, a dedicated school catering company who specialise in the delivery of freshly prepared hot meals for our children each day, using high quality, locally sourced ingredients. Children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are entitled to receive a Universal Free School Meal (UFSM) each day. Lunches must be ordered by Parents in advance using the 'Parent Booking' facility on their ParentPay account. We encourage all our children to have a healthy and nutritious diet to fuel their learning and energy. Children also have the option to bring in a home packed lunch if they wish.

We will ensure that our concerns about our pupils are discussed with parents/carers first, unless we have reason to believe that such a move would be contrary to the child's welfare.
