Welcome to the Aspire Academy Trust.

Aspire is a vibrant, highly successful and widely recognised Trust determined to raise standards of educational achievement to the very highest levels. We don’t just aim for our children to achieve what is average or expected, but for them to excel both academically and in character.

We live in a global economy that requires our children to be prepared to think both critically and creatively, solve complex problems, and to communicate well. Getting learning off to a flying start.

Aspire nurseries, led by qualified and knowledgeable staff, lay firm foundations for children in their early years. A qualified teacher from each school oversees the curriculum, learning environments and learning outcomes in conjunction with the Nursery Lead. Staff strive to ensure all children have an equal chance of success, informed by knowledge of what can be achieved.

Our nurseries, the children, families, our dedicated teams and the local community, are an integral part of the Aspire Academy Trust. We recognise the need for high quality early education where children flourish through the love and care given by all of our practitioners.

We know the importance for our nurseries to have strong and respectful partnerships with parents so every child can develop during their early years and that everyone plays an active role in ensuring this is successful.

Our number one goal is to ensure all children, within our family of Nurseries, grow stronger and achieve through high-quality early education and the care that we are able to offer.

Welcome to Nansloe Nursery

Head of School

Hello, I am Lucy Swiggs and I will have the pleasure of being the Head of School here at Nansloe Academy when you join from September. On behalf of our amazing children and dedicated staff, I would like to welcome you to Nansloe Academy and Nursery.

We have a small and friendly Nursery setting within our school grounds, for children aged three and four, offering funded and parent-pay sessions.

Our aim is to provide a happy and caring learning environment where everyone is shown respect and feels valued, where children are supported and encouraged and their strengths are celebrated.

My colleague and Reception Teacher in our main school, Esther Pollard, is our EYFS lead and she works closely with Mrs Dalley, our Nursery Lead, to ensure continuity and progression in learning between the two classes. Our aim is to ensure of children become happy and confident learners who, with guidance and support, can reach their full potential.

The lovely Mrs Dalley is our Nursery Teacher, supported by the equally lovely Mrs Woodhouse and Mrs Burns. Together they have created a stimulating and enabling environment where children can learn actively through play and exploration and are supported to think critically.

Our nursery is an integral part of the EYFS unit within Nansloe Academy which aims to nurture a love of learning, supporting children to reach their full potential and to flourish as confident, independent learners. Happy children are ready to learn through their own play and play with others, by adult modelling and through guided learning and direct teaching.

Early Years Curriculum

We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Curriculum. This document sets out the standards that all Early Years providers must meet to ensure the children learn and develop well and are kept healthy and safe. It promotes teaching and learning and gives the children the broad range of knowledge and skills they need to develop into independent learners, building a foundation for future achievement and progression through school and beyond. We nurture a 'love for learning' here at Nansloe and each half term we introduce a new and specific topic which is delivered through an exciting range of activities that both engage and excite.
