When I think of worldview as person I think of a regal king sitting on a throne looking down at the world. Kind of like Odin from the Thor Marvel Movies. 😅 Thats how I personified Worldview 

Pt. 1 I walk like a dizzied new born giraffe Haphazardly strolling down a hallway of the Savanah Tumbling, stumbling. Falling over. Limbs flailing On lookers bemused Flamingos with their elegant strut; laugh Elephants with their lumbering pace; chortle Lions with their majestic prance; chuckle Ibis shrieking with laughter Head hung low Runs, stumbles and falls Rhinos stampede Limbs flailing

Pt. 2 Crawl to safety Hidden behind a baobab tree Breathing heavily, Giving up Till a monkey speaks to me “Try to walk again” Unable to. “Try speaking to someone” Unwilling to. “Then just crawl out on your hands and knees.” I can try that Crawling out on my hands and knees The silence eerie Can I make it to my feet?

That would be me. Quick facts: I’m an army cadet, Play Basketball, LGBTQ+, Love stand up comedy, have two dogs that are slightly insane, live in North Van and go to Seycove. Have fun trying to a) absorb all of that b) figure out where Seycove is.

This Poem is about politics and how I perceive them. I feel like a lot of politicians you hear about on the news *cough* *trump* *cough* judge people unfairly and put them in boxes of: you are this because of how you look, act, etc. And as a member of the LGBTQ (no point in hiding it) it affects how I view the world. Because of people like the current U.S. President I don’t feel safe. It’s sad to me that I have to have a “safe space” instead of everywhere being safe. 

In this poem Illustrate how I see culture. A flower garden. I see so many people that look, act, are different and I see that as a beautiful garden of different people. 

This sound poem is about my house at night and the sounds I hear. The “ring” and the “bark” is my dogs barking at the door every time someone knocks. The “clack” is my mums high heels clacking on our wooden floor. The “sh” is when we cook things on the stove, especially with oil. The “clink” is when I someone else has to wash dishes. The “drip” is from the sink that leaks sometimes. The “tick tock” is a clock in our house that makes that sound. The “creak” is a specific spot in our house that if you step on them they creak really loudly and The “slam” is the door when my dad or mum gets home late.

My self portrait is about how I walk. As you can tell, not very well. I am so unbelievably clumsy. It’s something that I have been teased for, even ridiculed for I.e. spilling paint in art class on the meanest kid in school and something I have made friends with I.e. running initially other clumsy people and bonding over it. 

This is another poem I really enjoyed. The found poem. The piece I chose was gettysburg adresse by President Abraham Lincoln. Abraham Lincoln was very liberal and open minded about freedom and equality for his time. He after all was one of the causes of the Civil War, an event that shaped Peoples Worldview’s for centuries. I keep on thinking about the impact on the world and how different it would be if the civil war had never happened.

Have you ever looked back on when you were young and wished that you could just go back? That’s how I feel about my young(er) days. I think I ultimately was happier when my life was simpler and this poem is a reflection of that. 

My poem is about cadets. I am a member of the 2573 6th engineer squadron Army Cadets (long name right?) and this is what everyday at cadets feels like. It’s a very important experience that honestly has changed me. 

By far one of the hardest poems for me to write. Not technically, so to speak, but emotionally. I had to really dig deep when writing this poem and I won’t lie, I almost cried a couple times. In this poem I describe a situation I find myself in a lot. I identify as Gender-neutral or non-binary so when activities that require being divided up into girls and boys I just kinda stand in the middle.
