For the second situation, I created the image using Canva's AI. In this situation, I wanted to represent Saint-Emilion without people in the streets. The houses are abandoned because, due to climate change, people have left them.

For the first situation, I took a photo of Saint-Emilion. I added a filter with Canva to create warmth. In this situation, I wanted to represent Saint-Emilion when climate change has subsided.

SITUATION 2

In the first situation, the Earth has been saved and more precautions have been taken. Thanks to these actions, global warming has been halted and all sentient beings have been saved. In the second situation, no precautions have been taken and the Earth is in a very bad state.

A look into Hildburghausen's bright future

Drastic measures have been taken since the 2020s and the effects of climate change have been contained. We focused on the benefits of nature again and included plants and trees into architecture and our everyday life. Instead of "using" animals we found a way to live with them freely. We found alternative building materials and let rivers flow in their natural way. The small town of Hildburghausen was a role model for Europe and many people moved there, so that the city's population has increased drastically. However, thanks to new materials, the city could build environmentally friendly skyscrapers to cover all the new inhabitants.&nbsp;

Kerkini lake and habitat is near Skotoussa School. It hosts numerous species . It provides its visitors with birdwatching, buffaloes walking around it and boating .

Situation 2 : Bordeaux In this universe, humanity has abandoned The Earth. The Earth has died because of humans laziness. These towns, overwhelmed by pollution, are the home of those who have been rejected by society.

Situation 1 : In this universe, humanity has taken up on itself and saved The Earth from the damages of pollution and climate change. This common effort has contributed to the end of wars in the world. That's why this world has lived in peace ever after.

To generate these pictures we used Canva's AI. We asked the AI to generate an apocalyptic and then, a utopian picture of Bordeaux's streets

The city has increased its reliance on renewable energy sources, including solar and wind power. However, the transition has been gradual and is not yet sufficient to meet all the city's energy demands, which continues to include a mix of renewable and non-renewable sources. Hildbrughausen has continued to expand and improve its public transport system, making it more efficient and less carbon-intensive. New bus lines have been added, and there is a greater focus on electric vehicles, although the full transition to a completely green fleet is still underway.

SITUATION 1

In the 2nd situation, Bordeaux has experienced an apocalypse, which is why the sky is so red. Certain toxic gases have polluted the air, and the population is now obliged to wear overalls to survive.

In the 1st situation, we can see Bordeaux as a more evolved and modern city. The population has managed to survive the apocalypse. There's a lot more greenery, but the city's still built on the same foundations.

The recurring costs of repairing flood damage, coupled with the loss of business continuity, place a significant financial burden on the city. Insurance premiums have skyrocketed, and many businesses and residents face increased economic uncertainty. The increased frequency of heatwaves and poor air quality due to inadequate green spaces and high emissions lead to public health crises. Respiratory problems and heat-related illnesses become more common, overwhelming healthcare services. The lack of initiatives to preserve natural habitats within and around the city leads to a decline in biodiversity. Many species that once thrived in and around Hildburghausen's green areas are now at risk or have disappeared, disrupting local ecosystems. Due to the deteriorating living conditions and economic instability, Hildburghausen faces a population decline as residents move to other areas or countries that offer a higher quality of life and better job opportunities.

The 1st situation represents Bordeaux in the future. Bordeaux has evolved and is more modern. It hasn't changed as much as today and there is more vegetation.

While there have been efforts to combat climate change, policies have been applied inconsistently. Budget constraints, political shifts, and varying levels of public support have resulted in a patchwork of initiatives that sometimes lack coordination and long-term planning. Despite new green spaces, Hildburghausen still suffers from the urban heat island effect, particularly during the summer months. The density of the city and slow rates of retrofitting older buildings with green technologies contribute to higher temperatures. Economic pressures, including the costs associated with transitioning to a green economy, have slowed some of the more ambitious environmental projects. Financial resources are often diverted to immediate concerns, delaying investment in sustainable infrastructure.

Lake Kerkini is beautiful all seasons. The favorite season is when the flamingos come and the lake turns pink. Also the water buffalo when they come to the shores of the lake is a beautiful sight. Situation 1: The Lailia, Serres ski center is located in a forest of beech and pine trees. Despite its relatively average altitude, its northern orientation helps it keep snow for many months, so its season is long. It has an illuminated track, suitable for night skiing. The view in the beech and fir forest is unique. That's how it is now.

Situation 1 : Bordeaux's station has developed green energy, and promoted efficiency and reasonable consumption. The city has let nature grow.

Situation 2 : Bordeaux's station still overconsumes and loses customers. The city hasn't changed its goal : economic profit.

To generate these pictures, I have used the free AI on Canva (a design tool ). In my opinion, other image generators like Craiyon&nbsp;were too imprecise. I asked Canva to create a dystopic version and a utopic version of Bordeaux’s station in the future. I chose a picture of each version and I imagined what could happen to bring us to these situations.&nbsp;

We integrated environmental education into our curricula, learning about renewable energy, sustainable agriculture, and conservation from an early age on. Our school has implemented some specific educational initiatives such as "Green Georgianum", outdoor classrooms and eco-projects including sustainablitliy workshops and partnerships with universities. Our school is powered by renewable energy sources such as solar panels and wind turbines. Classrooms are equipped with energy-efficient lighting and heating systems. A look into Hildburghausen's dark future

Hildburghausen in the year 2124. Despite early warnings and scientific forecasts, the city failed to implement adequate measures to combat environmental challenges. This oversight has led to significant hardships for the city and its inhabitants. HHildburghausen, situated near the Werra River is particularly has become vulnerable to flooding. The city's failure to enhance its flood defenses or to develop comprehensive water management strategies has led to frequent and devastating floods that disrupt daily life and cause substantial economic damage. Hildburghausen did not invest sufficiently in sustainable buildings or infrastructure. Most of the city's structures remain energy-intensive, and there is a significant lack of green spaces, which exacerbates the urban heat island effect, leading to higher temperatures in the city compared to surrounding areas. Hildburghausen has been slow to reduce its reliance on fossil fuels. The delayed transition to renewable energy sources has not only contributed to higher greenhouse gas emissions but also left the city dependent on increasingly expensive and unstable energy supplies.

To generate these images, we used Canva Magic. We asked the AI to create an apocalyptic version and another one with more vegetation of Bordeaux in 2124. We chose an image we liked by refining our search.

Situation 1 : Rue Sainte Catherine in a perfect future.

Bordeaux is now a 100 % electric and eco-friendly city.

We used the Leonardo.ai website, which uses AI to generate or modify images. We used its "Image guidance" function to modify a reference image of the St Catherine Street in Bordeaux. We used the following prompts to obtain the desired result: 1- the image must look like a perfect future (ecological) 2- the image should look like a post-apocalyptic future 3- the image should look like the future after a nuclear war

Situation 1 : This picture shows Rue Maubec, a typical shopping street in the town of Langon. This street is now very busy because it shelters from the sun, which is becoming increasingly unbearable in a climate that is still liveable but difficult for the most sensitive people and the elderly to endure.

I chose a photograph of Roaillan, a small village near Langon. In this photograph we can see nature, which represents a peaceful, unpolluted world. Today, despite pollution, life is still possible.

I just took a photo in Roaillan. Life in 2124 is just the same as today !!!

I decided to take a photograph of a desert landscape where life is difficult for plants. In the future, pollution is likely to be so widespread that it will affect nature.

I used a photo I took last summer and Canva to retouch it.

For situation 2, we asked Canva's AI to provide us with a photo of Bordeaux seen from the sky after the Apocalypse. We also asked for a cloud to represent the greenhouse effect.

SITUATION 1

Situation 2 : This image shows the cultivated fields of the town of Langon, in particular the one on the road of Saint Macaire. A century has passed and global warming has worsened. No more crops can be grown, which is why the owners of this land have abandoned it, and this is what's left of it : nothing !!! Of course, we can still try to imagine what it was like before, but that's all. This emptiness leaves us with the impression that it's not empty because of its former abundance, but today we feel really powerless looking at it. It's a symbol of climate inaction and what it will engender : death !!! Death is when nothing remains, this field is dead. There's no life left in it. Even the horizon breathes death. Everything is horribly uniform. The colour is a blurred colour, unstable but uniform. Everything repeats itself on the horizon, the diversity that once made us rich has disappeared.

By 2124, Hildburghausen's failure to address the challenges of climate change has resulted in a city that struggles with environmental degradation, economic instability, and declining public health. The city serves as a stark reminder of the importance of proactive environmental policies and sustainable urban planning to ensure a resilient future for urban centers facing similar challenges.

Situation 1 Le "Miroir d'eau" is not very different from now. It's just a little bit hotter but we can still live easily.

For situation 1, we found a photo of "the water mirror" from the front. Then, we modified it using the iphone settings in the photo gallery. We increased contrast and exposure to make it look very clear.

For situation 2, we asked the AI in Canva to represent "the water mirror" when nature reclaimed its rights and when the water in the Garonne River overflowed its banks.
