Studying our environment started up with literally studying our environment. The challenge we got you can see
And this can also be used in the classroom:
Give a time limit to complete the TO DO list and also give students time to share their experience.
HAVE FUN :-)
- give a TO DO list to your students to explore their environment
- if they know it quite well give funny or challenging activites (e.g. count how many stairs are their in X street, or ask the busdriver if he knows any passengers by name)
- also include some GREEN tasks (e.g. Where can you take flat batteries to recycle in this district?)
- it is also possible to restrict it to the school building especially in case of new students who need to get acquainted with the new place anyway
- action-focus tasks are especially enjoyable, include some (e.g. draw the ..., ask..., find...)

We also learnt some teaching techniques to use when teaching other subjects like sciences in English for breaking tasks down, guessing from context, checking instructions, scaffolding techniques.
