My Vincent van Gogh,

It is really painful knowing that you are gone. It has been a while since your passing and I do not know when I am going to get through this difficult stage of my life without you here. I miss you each day.

I loved everything that you had painted, but I am so sorry for the people that did not recognize the value of your paintings and how good and caring you were. You helped many people during your lifetime and you inspired many more, especially me, to become the best version of myself.

You were loved by everyone even though you could not realize it. Everything was beautiful here with you, dear, but God decided that it was the right time for you to leave this earth for infinity.

Thank you for everything,Vincent. You will never be forgotten.

                             Goodbye,
                              Lydia

Art plays a significant role in everyone’s life. I've always admired art while not being the type to actually make it.

Van Gogh is one of my favorite artists of all time, his paintings are immaculate in every way. He is not like any other painter, his life story is heartbreaking and everything about his paintings is different from any other's.

I don’t know how to explain exactly the reasons but Van Gogh holds a special place in my mind and heart, as to the whole world of art!

From my younger days, I reckon, I have always admired The Starry Night by Vincent Van Gogh. Considered it my favorite painting, even. I liked it because of the bright colors and the lines that formed swirling shapes on the canvas; I believed in the simple notion that if it's pretty, it's good as well. But, as I grew older and learnt much more about the world and the artist himself, I realized that The Starry Night was a lot more than an impressionist's take of a pretty scenery. It portrayed the mind of the artist, the world as he, Vincent, could see it with his poetic yet troubled gaze. He was surely an outstanding artist but, also suffered great deal of pain, as he was born different. It strikes me as quite odd: how such a man, who seemed to deeply love people and who worked so hard to change the world by his actions and, later, by his art, had such an unfortunate life. He becomes something of a paradox himself, the more one learns about him; the true archetype of the tortured artist.

Ever since I was a little girl I have always admired and got inspired by artists. The one that made a more lasting impression to me was Vincent Van Gogh.

Maybe it was the simplicity behind his brush strokes which contradicts the result and its complexity, or maybe his life’s story and hearing the hardships he went through, or even his dream of inspiring and bringing light into the world with his art that made such a longing impression on me.

It was only when I saw his art in the Van Gogh museum in the Netherlands that I realized that the messages he left in his art were so beautiful and pure that I truly felt the need to follow his footsteps.

In conclusion, to me Van Gogh is not only an incredible inspiration but also a mentor and the one who made me decide to follow my life’s passion.
