At a house in a city Lucy the dog lived happily with her owner Sara and a cat named Mary. One day Lucy starts to hate Mary the cat! Sara exclaimed, to the animals,“ What a great pet you guys are”! Lucy and Mary didn’t agree with Sara. Mary was not thinking what Sara was thinking. Neither was Lucy! “ Lucy exclaimed, “ I am a great pet!” Mary was thinking, “ I am a better pet than Lucy! “ Why don’t you guys get along ,you guys used to like each other,” asked Sara. Sara was about ready to leave for work. She was a news reporter that worked in New York City. Lucy asked Sara,” Could we be outside while you work”. “That is a great idea,” exclaimed Sara. When they got outside Mary asked what they were going to do out here.  After a while Lucy became more fed up with Mary. Then Lucy said bravely, "I am going to jump over the fence to explore New York City”. “ Go ahead,” said Mary. So Lucy jumped over the fence. “ See I told you I could do it,” said Lucy. “ What are you going to do in New York,” asked  Mary? “ I don’t know, but I will find out," Lucy said assuringly.

Lucy set off walking in New York. She first passed a bakery. The smell was so good Lucy wanted to stop by the bakery, but she didn’t stop by the bakery. Mary was wondering when Lucy would be home. She just  then passed another business it was called Dave's Bake Goods.
Then she saw a big business on the outside that read “News station New York”. After a bit she realized that was the news station where Sara worked. Mary the cat decided to come where Lucy was because she knew that Sara would be home soon and she doesn’t want her to be mad! Mary climbed over the fence, and she ran the way that Lucy did when she left the yard. She passed the same bakery, and another business. Just then Mary saw Lucy in front of the news station! Lucy exclaimed, “How did you get here”! “I rode with Sara here because she had to pick up her computer,” said Mary. “Let’s get out of here I don’t want Sara being mad at us,” said Mary.

"Why do we have to get home," asked Lucy? “We were supposed to stay in the yard,” said Mary. “ Ok,Ok,” said Lucy."Let's go home,” said Mary. Lucy didn’t tell Mary that she bought stuff with them from the trash can .They went home quietly. Sara went to take a shower, so they snuck in then.
They went to the living room. “Ok Mary, I guess that you were right,”said Lucy. They went and told Sara what happened because when they ate the bakery goodies they got a little messy! As they waited for Sara to come out of the shower they watched the birds from out the window fly along. Just then Sara came into the living room. When she walked into the living room she asked ,” What did you guys do today"?
Lucy went first and told about what she did. Lucy said,” I didn’t stay in the yard”. “I went to get her back because it was getting late,” added  Mary. “That explains why it smells like cake in here,” said Sara. Lucy then asked,” Are you mad at us?” Sara was not upset; she just thought they would stay in the yard. They all learned never to go out of the fenced in yard without Sara again!
