Dear Parents and Students,

Students planning to study abroad should prepare a strong ‘Statement of Purpose(SoP) from Class IX itself. This is a crucial document as it allows the authorities to know about the student’s profile. A good SoP includes information about academic accomplishments and participation and achievements in co-curricular activities, extra-curricular activities, sports, Inter-school competitions, etc. It should also have evidence of involvement in community service and participation in activities showing leadership skills, talents, life skills, etc. The students can also learn a foreign language to add a competitive edge. All of this will ensure a strong letter of recommendation from the teachers, which will add value to the student’s curriculum vitae (CV).  So, dear students, what is holding you back? Actively participate in all the activities of the school and model good behaviour to improve your chances for a bright future.

Best Regards,
Suma Paul

EMULATE OUR PATRON BY BEING KIND AND GENTLE!
The School Day was conducted on Friday, 7 October 2022. The feast of patron St. Francis Assisi was celebrated in a magnificent manner. The event commenced with the school prayer. The school prayer was followed by Holy Bible reading by Sara Dcosta, a student of class VIII B. Our school Director Very Rev. Fr. Jacob Baiju Ben offered a thought-provoking message on the importance of being kind and gentle to others. Intercessory prayers were organized by the students of Class VIII. A slideshow presentation and a skit about the life history of St. Francis Assisi were enacted by the students of Classes IV and VIII. The skit was well organized by the active participation of students.
CHARITY BEGINS AT SCHOOL
Continuing with their humanitarian activities, the Interact Club of Assisi Vidyaniketan Public School, in collaboration with Goonj, an NGO working for the upliftment of the community, jointly organized a two-week-long collection drive from 6th October to 14th October within the school premises. Initially, it was planned as a two-day event, but the overwhelming response resulted in extending the drive to two weeks. The community took a keen interest in the activity and contributed generously to the cause, in the form of books, clothes, papers, toys, footwear, etc. for the needy. The collection drive was a huge success as two truckloads of consignment could be collected.
ARANGETTAM EXUDED A MAGICAL AURA
Arangettam 2022, was conducted on Friday, 7 October, 2022. The programme commenced with the lighting of the lamp at 8.45 a.m. During the Guruvandanam ceremony, music and dance teachers were honoured with 'ponnada'. A thought-provoking message was delivered by our Administrator Rev. Dr. George Mathirappilly. The vibrant programmes started off with the Carnatic vocal recital by Class VII students. The western vocals by Class IV students were music to the soul. The budding talents from Classes IV to VII enthralled the audience with the musical bonanza. The graceful dancers gave a mesmerizing performance. Infact, the stellar performance of the Assisians exuded a magical aura. The cultural programme ended at 10 a.m. with the National Anthem.
ARANGETTAM
NOTHING IS BETTER THAN A PICNIC
The students of Class VI were enthralled when the announcement was made that they were going on a trip to Wonderla Amusement Park, Kochi on 1st October, 2022. It seemed that they were just waiting for a long time to be themselves and have a fun time with their friends and teachers. There were 209 students from Class VI for the trip and they were, accompanied by the Manager, Mr. Roy Kurishinagal, teachers, and helpers.
Though a very short distance to travel in the DJ bus, the singing and dancing boosted the energy of students and set the mood for the picnic. Morning snacks, juice, lunch and evening snacks and ice-creams were the refreshments provided at the park. Designed with spectacular charm, the Wonderla Amusement Park in Kochi is a most entertaining place. It offered the students with breath-taking water and land rides, different types of water pools, rain discos and entertainment shows. Some of the most amazing and must-visit rides are Flash Tower, Equinox 360, Wonder Splash, Super Jumper and Boomerang Maverick.
Through this trip, an unforgettable wonderful experience was imprinted in the hearts of the students to be cherished forever.
