La especie prefiere suelos frescos y profundos en ambientes húmedos con inviernos templados, pues, aunque pueden adaptarse bien a los diferentes cambios de temperatura se ven muy afectados por las heladas tardías.

Hyperion es el nombre dado al árbol y ser viviente más alto del planeta (descubierto), una&nbsp;Sequoia &nbsp;de 115,55 metros de altura, localizada en el Parque nacional Redwood, al norte de California (Estados Unidos). &nbsp;

Hyperion is bigger than london's big ben.

To protect the tree, the location of Hyperion is a secret. If tourists start visiting the tree, it can be damaged.

We discovered the tallest tree on the planet in September 2006 (two thousand and six). We believe it’s more than 600 (six hundred) years old!
