The games were held in Olympia earlier this week. There was running, boxing, wrestling, long jump, javelin, chariot racing and pankration (which is very dangerous fighting).
The stadium held over 40000 people. Chariot racing was also held in the Hippodrome (which is a stadium for horse or chariot races).
The prize given to the winner was a crown of leaves (there were no prizes for coming second).
Statues will be made to honor the champions.
A feast took place in the Prytaneion at the end of the games.

Giant Horse Spotted - is it a gift?
A giant horse has been left outside the city walls of Troy. The Trojan people think it could be a gift but many people are suspicious of the meaning of this strange structure. It is said that the Greeks have built this wooden horse as a peace offering, to end the long 10 year war.

Mark Henry of Troy commented "I looked out of my window just before dark and saw what looked like a giant horse. The Greeks have already left, will they be coming back to pick this up".

There was a terrible eruption that has destroyed the island of Thera. It has obliterated the Minoan community and has killed over 40,000 people. The volcano has also caused a tsunami which has killed many people living on the coast. The Greeks are setting out in boats to try and find any surviving Minoan's, but they are very doubtful that there are any survivors.

Greek physician Hippocrates says "this is one of the most deadly diseases I've ever seen so stay at home and don't go out because it's very deadly."
It is thought that it has entered through the city's port of Piraeus which is the cities soul source of food and supplies. Apparently, the city-state of Sparta and most of the east of the Mediterranean also has cases.
