Though this design wasn’t actually part of one of the skills we learned, it demonstrates the use of the symmetry tool.

For this design, the skill was lights and shadows. 	To demonstrate this skill, we created robots. I missed the day that we worked on this and was originally told that I didn’t need to complete it, however then I did end up needing to do it. Like most things, it would have been better with more time, but I think my robot showed the skills well enough. 	I used used basic 3D shapes for most of it and used lighter or darker variants of my main colour. This made my shapes look more 3D, as well as demonstrated the skill of lights and shadows. I think that instead of making each part a solid colour, I could have shaded and blended more to make it more realistic. 	I liked how I used a pixel tool to make a heart with a heart rate coming out from it on the top left, because it gave my robot a unique touch. 	Anyways, though he has some room for improvement, Freddy is a beautiful robot :)

For this design, the skill was colour. 	First I completed a design brief, which involved planning out the name, tagline, purpose, audience, related words/symbols and colours (we also learned what each colour signifies). A few years ago, me and my best friend had already created our own little buisness, which we called Cupid Matchmaking, so I decided to make a logo for us. One of red’s meaning’s is passion and one meaning that pink can represent is romance, so I chose to use those as my main colours. Though grey also has meanings, I didn’t really think about them, so in the future I would make sure that all my colours’ meanings work with my company. 	To create the actual logo, I used basic shapes for most of the parts and used darker and lighter shades of my main colours to make everything more 3D, as well as using the blend tool to make the colour transitions more smooth. 	I was really happy with the main pink heart, because it looked the most 3D and I think that I could improve on making the rest look the same.

For this design, the skill was shapes and doodles. 	Everyone chose an emoji to recreate as a drawing. I chose the 😁 emoji, because it’s not too easy or too hard and I use it a lot too. 	At first, I was being a bit too perfectionist and I was also struggling to blend the colours. In the end, I think that it turned out ok. One thing I would fix is that the very light yellow at the top shouldn’t have spread so far out. The teeth were also a bit too white. In the original emoji the eyes look more indented, so I would also improve on that. 	Anyways, I think that despite the initial struggles, it ended up fairly well.

For this design, the skill was lines &amp; pressure. 	The final product for this skill was to create our name or a word in bubble/block/3D letters (or something similar to that). 	I started off with simple block letters, using the line tool (which makes all your lines straight). Then I added colour to them, with a gradient of some of my favourite colours (or similar shades to them). Next, I made them 3D and used a darker shade for that part. Since it still wasn’t super interesting, I decided to add some vines weaving around the letters, to add a unique touch and also because I really like drawing that style of vines. I started with an outline and then used colour fill to add green inside. Finally, I used a colour fill pattern in a light beige/cream colour and then, using the same pattern, added blobs (with a lighter version of the nearest letter’s colour). 	Overall, I am super happy and proud of the final result and it is my favourite of my designs!

Hi my name is Kaia! This book is the collection of art I created in PLP (Performance Learning Program) Maker. 	I have an adorable golden aussie puppy named Maruka. I enjoy hanging out with friends, spending time in nature and going on adventures with my puppy. I do competitive running and volleyball and recently joined my school basketball team. I like cooking and baking and sometimes making my own recipes. I also enjoy photography (especially taking pictures of my puppy) and making movies with my friends. As well, I love drama and… French (shocking, I know). I really like writing (especially creative writing) and I wrote a short story that’s going to be published at my local library.
