Obregon tried to act as a peacemaker between Villa and Zapata. When the conflict between them was hard to manage, Alvaro just chose to side with Carranza. He defeated Villa in many battles in the region of the Bajio ( parts of Aguascalientes, Jalisco, Guanajuato, and Queretaro). One of the most important battles of the revolution was the Battle of Celaya.

Alvaro had many jobs throughout his lifetime. His first major job was offered by his uncle as a mechanic. Then later in 1898 worked in a sugar refinery. Two years later he returned back home and worked as a teacher and a manager in one of his uncle's haciendas.

He was born in to one of the most important families in Sonora. Although his fathers fortune has been in decline and disappeared when he died. Obregon's father died shortly after he was born. His mother owned many lands in Mayo Valley.

The Mexican Revolution began in 1910. The poor was tired of not getting paid well, starving, and being neglected. Obregón did not get involved at first. Not until Madero's murder in 1913. General Victoriano<a href="https://online.infobase.com/Article/Details/259225?q=alvaro%20obregon#"> </a>Huerta was at fault.

While Obregón was assigned to defeat Francisco "Pancho" Villa, he had a life changing effect. He lost his right arm to a cannon shell in 1915. In 1917, he decided to take a break from politics and return to farming. He got even more fame for designing a mechanical chick pea seeder. He really could do it all!

In Alamos, Sonora, Mexico on February 19,1888 Alvaro Obregon was born. Obregon did not have a childhood like many kids today are fortunate to have.

Alvaro finally decided to join the revolution. He got the place of lieutenant colonel after winning the battle at San Joaquin. When Francisco Madera was assasinated, Obregon became the military commander of Hermosillo. As time went on he continued to move up in his positions. Obregon met up with Villa and other generals in 1914.

Obregón&nbsp;was ready to get back into the game of politics. His new name would be President Obregón. Plutarco Elías Calles helped Obregón throw Carranza out of office in 1920. Officially on December 1, 1920, Álvaro Obregón was the new president of Mexico! He is a true example of determination and a leader.

Alvaro worked as a farmer. Although he did not get a very well education growing up, he learned alot about the needs and desires of poor Mexicans. He worked hard to establish himself as great a buisnessman.
