And yes!!!!!! They all pass the finish line together. They are all winners! They are all flashing their most beaming smile and the photographers’ flashes are shining! They are all clean and healthy and they look at the future with a big smile!!!

After passing this road with difficulty, the next stand greeted them not only with toothbrushes, but also with sugary drinks. The mischievous little Canine Tooth was about to open one, but one sharp look from Little Incisor made him realize he shouldn’t drink. So, he threw away the drink at a rubbish bin further down the road.

On their right, they see a toothy railway. Then, little Canine Tooth says: ‘What do you say? Shall we take the train to relax a bit?’. Right away, little Incisor looked down on him by saying: ‘The race is hard, my friend. But we must be just, and do as we must without cheating!’

Every year, in the month of November, there is the annual Marathon of Athens. Together with it, there is also the imaginary ‘Marathon of the Teeth’. 42,195 meters if you please! The teeth have gathered here today to take part in this difficult race. They are wearing their best costume of dentine, with their number – unique for each one according to the position they have inside the mouth. They are getting ready and clean themselves, but…they don’t bite!!! They all believe that at the end they will be winners.

The teeth are getting ready...

In an uphill, they got caught in acid rain (exhaust fumes are plenty in Athens, you know); tooth decay they call it in their language. They tried to outrun it because they know that tooth decay is bad for the tooth enamel. After they passed the hurdle of the tooth decay, the teeth reach the stand with the toothpastes and toothbrushes. They all get from one and start cleaning themselves as they are running, until they feel fresh and clean again.

The teeth are getting close to the finish line. All the teeth, who are also friends, are waiting for the latecomers so that they can all cut the dental floss together. The baby teeth on the side are cheering them on! The friends are gritting their teeth to reach the finish line.

On they went on their difficult race, and they soon found themselves before a stone road. A Premolar that was way ahead screamed: ‘There are too many stones, friends! Go past quickly! As soon as we exit this stone road, we will find the stand with the toothpastes!!!’ It happened as he said. Once the friends exited the road, the teeth brushed themselves. All around the racers-teeth there were all kinds of baby teeth that kept cheering them on giving them courage to continue.

The dentist – the starter of the race – signals the racing start by turning on the dental wheel that squeaks loudly! The teeth start running quickly and set off their timers.

After covering more than half the marathon, they found themselves in a muddy road, that later had many beautiful colors that stuck on the teeth. Little Incisor screamed: ‘Watch out guys! Melted chocolate and melted caramel, lollipops and sweets ahead! Don’t stick onto it! Pure sugar!!!’
