Introduction
In Nature classes, fifth grade students studied the topic Air - gaseous Earth's mantle with teacher Marina Švelec. By searching an interactive map (https://waqi.info/) the current state of air quality at numerous measuring stations around the world, they collected data on the degree of air pollution and linked them to the degree of economic development of the observed area. They concluded that the main air pollutants are traffic and industry driven by fossil fuels. Cities using renewable energy sources have lower levels of air pollution. Based on the previous conclusions, the students created graphic representations in which they emphasize the causes of air pollution and suggest ways in which they themselves can contribute to reducing the negative impact on air quality. Renewable energy sources have been identified as one of the solutions to improve the current situation and preserve the environment.
