Meet my cat Kong. He was born about a year and a half ago. His mother belonged to our neighbor across the street, and lived outside all the time. Kong’s mother had a big litter of kittens. Each day she would take the kittens to different spots. One day when it was rainy and cold the mother cat took most of the kittens back to their garage. But one kitten was left behind and we found the kitten alone and meowing under the tree. Since the weather was bad we picked up this very small kitten and brought him inside our house to keep him warm. He was soaking wet and his fur was all matted down. We dried him off, gave him some food to eat and he began to play.
We were all happy when Grandma said we could keep him.  The kitten was mostly black with patches of white. We started talking about what we would name him.  No one could agree on a name. Then the kitten stood up on his hind legs with his paws out. He looked a lot like the way King Kong is shown in pictures.  Everyone said how much he looked just like King Kong. His name was decided at that instant. He would be called Kong.

A few days later the neighbor who owns the mother cat called animal control. They came with cages and picked up all of the other kittens. Kong lost all of his brother and sister kittens but he got to stay with us. He grew up to be a very playful cat. His fur is soft and silky. He is the king of our house and is spoiled. He eats tuna fish every day. He is my good buddy. He keeps me company and is a great comfort to me during this time when we are all stuck at home. I have a leash for Kong and take him on walks outside. I look forward to having Kong as my pet for a long time.
