"Leader in Me" Fox Fables

Once upon a time, Fox was being a show-off at the pool when he did tons of flips off the diving board. Then Raccoon did a double back flip twist and Fox got mad and threw a fit. “UGHHH, I wish everyone thought I was the best in the pool!" Fox said. “Watch carefully, you will learn, and everyone will think you are the most athletic fox in the world," Raccoon said with a smile on his face. Fox was VERY mad, but he observed closely as Raccoon had told him and, with some practice, he did the double back flip twist and Raccoon said,

Moral: “SEEK FIRST TO UNDERSTAND, THEN TO BE UNDERSTOOD!"

Once, there were four crayfish at an amusement park. They all wanted cotton candy from the fox who was selling it. But if the fox saw them, he would gobble them up. They all had their own idea of how to get the cotton candy. They started bickering, and then one crayfish said, "We should work together!” “Nahh,” they all said together and they started bickering again.&nbsp;They each wanted to do it themselves. The fox saw them and chased them away, and they never dared to come back for the cotton candy.

One day, a cat was working hard in the garden. The cat didn’t know there was a hole in the garden fence. But she set a genius trap to protect her flowers just in case. The next day, the unsuspecting fox came in through the hole in the fence. The cat hid behind the trap and was ready to push the button to unleash the trap. The fox crept into the trap and SNAP! The fox was captured. "Sorry but not sorry, Fox! Bye!" said the cat sassily.

There was a butterfly and a fox. They were best friends. The fox was lazy but the butterfly was not.&nbsp;One day a snowstorm came and the butterfly got stuck in a snow drift. But the lazy fox did not know what to do because he was so lazy that he didn’t even know that foxes are great diggers.&nbsp;The butterfly got mad when the fox did not get her out. Then the butterfly and the fox were not best friends anymore.

One day Fox and Mouse saw an ice cream parlor, and they went into crime to steal some ice cream. They said "Let's go get some!" Then Mouse said, "I see a hole. I can crawl through the hole and get the ice cream without any one seeing me!" So, Mouse went through the hole and got a giant waffle cone with four scoops and whipped cream and a cherry on top.  But, when he tried to pull the ice cream back through the hole to share with Fox, the cone shattered and the ice cream fell with a SPLAT!&nbsp;

One day Rabbit was in a field when he saw a flurry of rainy gray clouds. CRASH! BOOM! BANG! Rabbit ran and ran for his house but when he got there, he had just time to grab some grapes before the house burnt to ashes from the sudden lightning shower. Rabbit raced the other way to the nearest den.  Just to make things worse, it was Fox's den. Rabbit looked down at the basket of grapes and said to Fox, "I have a lovely basket of grapes. Won't you let me come in? If you let me come in, I'll share my grapes." "Hmm," thought Fox, then answered, "No! I can get grapes myself any time I want!" Rabbit slowly hopped away, ashamed of herself and wondering why she had even thought of giving away the only food she had. Once the rain stopped, Fox ran out of his den but could get no grapes. "I should have listened to that poor little rabbit," he thought sadly.

One day a fox and a turtle went to a library. They both wanted to get the same book. But the fox went and played video games on the library computers while the turtle found the book and checked it out. When fox was done playing video games, he saw turtle walking away with the book.

Moral: Put first things first!
