Dear Colleagues,

It’s been a fantastic start to the life of the Thames Gateway Teaching School Hub, with new and exciting beginnings across all areas of our work. From ITT induction to the launch of the newly reformed NPQEL for Executive Leadership, our professional development offer is starting to take roots and begin the work of supporting our partners. Our ambition remains the same, to provide excellent professional development opportunities to support educators as they shape the lives of every child in our region. We have been particularly excited at the number of schools and colleagues who are partnering with us in this work, and are delighted to be welcoming colleagues as facilitators, mentors, early career teachers, and founding participants in our new offer for the Specialist and Leadership NPQs.

As with all new endeavours, this is a time of tremendous growth, especially as we as a system move into the delivery of the ECF-based Induction for our Early Career Teachers. This exciting and important new resource, which we are providing through the Education Development Trust, is set to become a vital and valued trellis, supporting our colleagues who are new to the profession, as well as a fantastic opportunity for those mentoring and supporting them. The fully funded National Professional Qualification for those Leading Teacher Development will be an additional tool for these colleagues.

We are particularly looking forward to welcoming colleagues at our ECF and Appropriate body Inductions next week, and to receiving applications, via our partners at LLSE and through the Church of England, by the end of September. Our official launch is then taking place in conjunction with our colleagues across the County on 5th October. This will be held in our beautiful Chatham Dockyard and looks to be a real celebration of the opportunities our Hubs provide for Professional Development across all ages, stages and subjects.

As we enjoy a season of change and growth, thank you for your partnership and collaboration. Please stay in touch with queries, questions, comments and feedback as we journey into these new opportunities together.

Very best wishes,
Esther Cook - Hub Director, Thames Gateway TSH

We are delighted to be working with Colleagues at Kent TSH to invite schools across Medway and Kent to our launch celebration.

Being offered in person, free of charge, at the beautiful Historic Dockyard in Chatham, the event on Tuesday 5 October will be repeated, running at 9 am and 1pm to allow plenty of space and the opportunity to meet colleagues from the full suite of Curriculum Hubs. We are also thrilled to be joined by Robert Coe from the Education Endowment Foundation and Heather Fearn from Ofsted.

This is shaping up to be a significant event, bringing together the opportunity to access a wealth of professional development, most of which are fully funded by the DfE.

Please register your attendance here.
