Thanks to the European road show and through the story of those who live there to develop together with the designated institutions a new constructive protocol focused on human well-being and reduce the environmental impact of the construction processes of biosphera's technologies in buildings used for different possible uses of housing, reception facilities, offices, hospitals. Everything is adjusted thanks to home automation and the parameters are constantly monitored.

The Alcantara hydroelectric power station is considered by many people "a real hydraulic engineering jewel ". From the waters of the Alcantara river,&nbsp;every day clean energy is produced inside the system flowing hydroelectric, water&nbsp;which is able to meet the needs of neighbouring communities in a natural, safe and sustainable way. In the early twentieth century the municipalities of Francavilla and Castiglione di Sicilia were among the very few ones in the whole national territory to have&nbsp;public electricity supplied from the "Ciapa" green power station,&nbsp;an old mill converted to a hydroelectric power system.

BIOGAS FARM IN THE PIANA

The trasformation from a problem to a resource by the biomass system for the agricolture. In a farm near Candidoni in Calabria has been created a Biogas system that allowed to create a circular economy: by the recovery of agriculture and breeding producing electricity able to meet the needs of 2,500 families and the heat for the farmhouse nearvy and the dairy. Photovoltaic panels for 400 kW shine on the roofs of the farm while a phyto-purification system recovers 97% of the water that is redirected.

MILANO SMART CITY

For the sixth consecutive year, Milan is confirmed as the smartest city in Italy, followed by Florence and Bologna

What smart city means? A place where planning strategies are implemented with the aim of optimizing and innovating all public services.

A human being spends at least 30-40 years of his /her entire existence within home walls (about a third of our lives) and our purpose was to try building houses where&nbsp;that can bring real well-being to the inhabitants. From 2014 to 2018, three progressive phases were developed, pursuing increasingly complex goals, three itinerant and energy-autonomous housing units thanks to the contribution of researchers, university professionals and companies adopting the most advanced and innovative technologies available. 

Today Biosphera Project has created the development of its third housing module, Equilibrium, which is tested with different destinations of use – home, school, office and health residence – during a 20-month roadshow, in Italy and Switzerland. The project was developed with the aim of testing and monitoring the construction, energy, air and environmental quality of advanced housing modules, and telling and describing the most advanced construction technologies.

THE ASTROLOGIC PARK IN ISNELLO

The park in Isnello born in 1990, after some observations of the sky by O.R.S.A. It’s got a robotic telescope operated by a power plant in Isnello.There is also a planetary in contrada Fontana Mitri near the town. It is the biggest astrologic park of the Mediterraneo Sea directed by the Italian Space Agency. It was installed on the Mufara mountain.

Three hydrogen-driven buses should go into service in Milan this September. Milan will then become the first city in Italy, along with London, Dusseldorf and Aberdeen among the few cities in Europe, to experiment with hydrogen-driven public transport.

The Milan public transport company ATM has selected Solaris as a supplier of up to 250 electric buses. The framework agreement with ATM Milano is one of the largest orders for Solaris to date – and the largest order for electric buses in Europe.

THE PROJECT There are thirteen Smart City projects, financed over the city of Milan and concern the simplification, mobility, environment, energy, social innovation and safety areas. The projects are implemented by very diversified partnerships, which include public departments, universities, large companies, SMEs and multiutilities.

The main challenge to which the Municipality intends to concerns social innovation, through the development of social and youth enterprises, creation of business incubators and accelerators in all the neighbourhoods of the city, the support for fablabs and makerspaces, there development of the territory, the development of the sharing economy, highlighting the social implications and consequences of these practices.

FIRENZE SMART CITY Florence is in second place, behind Milan, for social quality and digital transformation, environmental protection and sustainable mobility. The smart city, the relationships with the neighbourhoods, makes this city competitive even at the European level. The Farmhouses have been upgraded. The administration is committed to a complete digital transformation of the city.

Smart irrigation is used for saving public water. Digital systems are becoming more and more in buildings and schools. On sustainable mobility in addition to car sharing and the transformation of taxis into electric, we will have the novelty of electric bike sharing. More and more electric columns for charging cars.

A virtual example is The&nbsp;Jubilee Church, formally known as&nbsp;Chiesa di Dio Padre Misericordioso&nbsp;(Italian for&nbsp;Church of God the Merciful Father), is a&nbsp;<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catholic">Catholic</a> <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Church_(building)">church</a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Community">community</a>&nbsp;center in&nbsp;<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tor_Tre_Teste">Tor Tre Teste</a>&nbsp;in&nbsp;<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rome">Rome</a>. Designed to look like a ship, the south side of the church features three large curved&nbsp;<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wall">walls</a>&nbsp;of pre-cast&nbsp;<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Concrete">concrete</a>. (The walls form segments of&nbsp;<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sphere">spheres</a>.) Meier claims to have designed the church to minimize thermal peak loads inside. The large&nbsp;<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thermal_mass">thermal mass</a>&nbsp;of the concrete walls control internal heat gain; the result is less&nbsp;<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Temperature">temperature</a>&nbsp;variation, and supposedly more&nbsp;<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Efficient_energy_use">efficient</a>&nbsp;use of&nbsp;<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Energy">energy</a>. Enrico Borgarello, the director of research and development for&nbsp;<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Italcementi">Italcementi</a>, the company that designed the cement, claims that the cement destroys air pollution.

ROME Rome wil have an&nbsp;urban planning fabric&nbsp;that differs notably from that of current cities, with more green spaces, areas in which citizens can congregate, cycle paths, lanes reserved for public transport, bicycles and pedestrians, far fewer vehicles in circulation due to the various forms of&nbsp;shared mobility, less pollution thanks to the use of&nbsp;renewables, resilient buildings&nbsp;constructed with protocells, organic and recuperated materials, and systems capable of interacting with the environment,&nbsp;modifying their energy consumption&nbsp;when necessary.

Sustainable, responsible and attractive smart city

Bologna, the seventh largest city in Italy and capital of the Emilia-Romagna region, is in top 3 smart cities in the country. Since the mid-1990s, it was one of the first Italian cities to introduce e-government services with creation of the Iperbole Civic Network.

The network was established to deliver online services, multimedia content and information on municipal services and activities. In the next years, the city continued to digitize public services and collaborated in national and EU projects involving e-participation, e-health services, and public access points for disabled citizens and activation of free wireless hotspots.&nbsp;

From fashion to energy - the peel and seeds of the famous Sicilian citrus fruits, oranges, are used in a series of more ecological and healthier business initiatives. In 2011, Adriana Santonocito was a design student in Milan when she had the idea of producing sustainable fabrics from what was naturally abundant and widely wasted in her hometown, Catania, Sicily. This year, Salvatore Ferragamo used their fabric in his spring-summer collection with the aim of making his high-end shirts, dresses and scarves more sustainable.
