What is Digital Citizenship?
Digital citizenship refers to the way in which, individuals or citizens, interact and participate in online environments.
Children are using online environments very differently to how we were at their age. Much has changed!
"Kids today are sending lots of photos out into the world that they likely wouldn't want a future employer to see".
"Instead of helping our children by empowering them to use social media for good, they truly believe they have the power to destroy their own reputation"

Privacy & Safety
Sharing is a part of human nature. However, there are new implications for this with the online age.
Relate online safety to that of staying safe in physical environments.
Highlight the importance of strong, but memorable, passwords and logging out of shared devices.
Talk about accessing safe sites and about how some sites try to get our attention in harming ways e.g. fake news or clickbait (The Digital Life Skills Company, 2019). More on pages 16-17.
Private information vs personal information isn't easy for children to differ from. Being clear on this area is important.
There are some great tips on the above mentioned keys in here (Google, 2o20).
