TWO WAYS TO FOCUS A PHONE
Focus
This one may seem obvious but it isn't always. Your job as a photographer is to drive the eye of the viewer and the viewers eye naturally gravitates to what is in focus. So make sure the focus is where you really want it to be. There are two ways on phones to photograph. The easy way and the more precise way. Either are fine but have different times that you will use them.
How do I do it?
The Basic Way
-Touch the screen on you device on the place in the photograph where you want to the focus to be the sharpest.

-Hold it until that area sharpens.
- If you hold it down you can even lock the focus in an area.

-Now take the shot.

Touch Screen-

When you open the camera have a look at what is in front of you. What do you want people to look at? Touch that and it will come into focus. Hold it down and it will lock focus.
Precise Pro Focus

This setting is excellent if your vision isn't perfect or if you want to focus on a very specific part of an image. You can use the pro focus slider function if your phone has this option. If it doesn't then you might be able to get that feature using Adobe Lightroom camera like I explain in the Apple settings a few pages along.
