How to blur your background

Your challenge is to find a subject and shoot one image with the image in the foreground ( in the front) and have the background sharp and infocus as well as the subject. Then blur the background behind the subject. Share your work in this book.

-Select Portrait mode if your phone has this option. -For Apple select the "f" in the upper right hand corner. -For Android there is usually a blur icon. -If you don't have portrait mode you may have "food" mode which can work as well to blur objects behind your subject.

The proper term for blurring the background is adjusting your aperture. This can be done on a DSLR and on most cellphones. Older phones might struggle with this one but don't worry. Do it if you can and if you can't just hold on to the info until you upgrade your phone.

Safari may block some audio or video from playing automatically and ‘read to me’ will skip these. You can configure this in Safari’s preferences.
