State Academic Reading Standards K.RF.1 Understand and apply knowledge of print concepts, phonics, phonemic awareness, vocabulary, and fluency and comprehension as a foundation for developing reading skills. K.RF.2.1 Demonstrate understanding that print moves from left to right across the page and from top to bottom.

The student is 6 years old and has difficulty comprehending the words they read. They are able to read the words but can not decode what they mean in the context of the book. This student is also a student of color and has had some difficulties fitting in with their peers in the class because of her reading disability. I think that this book fits perfectly with her needs. The book doesn't have too many big words and is limited too, at most, four words per page. ISTE-E standards being met 2.1.c. Stay current with research&nbsp;that supports improved&nbsp;student learning outcomes, including findings from the&nbsp;learning sciences. This standard is being met by introducing the student to assistive tech to better help them read. ISTE-S standards being met 1.1.d. Students understand the&nbsp;fundamental concepts&nbsp;of technology operations, demonstrate the ability to choose, use and&nbsp;troubleshoot&nbsp;current technologies and are able to&nbsp;transfer&nbsp;their knowledge to explore&nbsp;emerging technologies. This standard is being met by myself. I was able to demonstrate the ability to use software that previously I have not used.
