All About Pandas

Baby pandas are born from their mother. Baby pandas have pink skin when they're born. it sleeps with the mom still. The panda mom lets the cub drink milk from her. Young pandas are usually born in a cave they stay there for 6 weeks because if they don't they will get hunted by other predator.

A panda has big back teeth and a strong jaw, It chews, chews all day. The bamboo plant is the pandas favorite food. it eats 25 to 40 pounds bamboo a day.

Pandas have something that other bears do not. there front paws have a kind of thumb. the Thumbs help hold bamboo while they eat.

Giant pandas walk in the forest on big furry paws. Each paw has five toes and 5 sharp claws. claws help the pandas climb trees.

A giant panda has a big round head. Its fur is black and white. Most giant pandas live alone and the mountains of china. a few pandas live in zoos.

Adult It lives up to 35 years in a zoo. Scientists don't know how long they live in the wild.

They may even eat in the middle of the night.  pandas seem to prefer to eat tender bamboo shoots and leaves when they can get them.  But pandas also eat large stacks up to 1 and a half inches thick.

Giant pandas eat a lot of bamboo trees because it keeps them healthy and they spend about 16 hours a day eating. Giant pandas eat one type of grass called bamboo. Pandas sleep a lot and eat at the min they get up from sleeping.

When the weather is too cold or the plants get diseases the bamboo dies. If this happens, the pandas die.

In the past people trapped and killed pandas.  Now there is a law in China that stops people from hunting them anymore.   

Parent pandas protect their baby from predators so they don't get eaten.Pandas are mammals, so cubs drink milk from their mothers. Baby panda cub they stay with their mother for 2 years when they get big their mother release then. When They Eat How Much They Eat

They eat for awhile sleep for a while and then eat some more. Most pandas spend up to 16 hours a day eating. They may eat in the middle of the night.

Every day a panda can eat an incredible amount of bamboo. There are hundreds of different kinds of bamboo but pandas only eat about 20 different kinds. pandas seem to prefer to eat tender bamboo shoots and leaves when they can get them.

Pandas get saved by humans.If pandas are in danger humans look for them. pandas get take care by a nurse.

Some scientists say that 99 percent of all the food that a wild panda eats is bamboo.  Most of the time they eat five or four different kinds of bamboo. In different kinds of areas where they live, they find different types . They look for food when they're in mountains.  If they only ate the same type of bamboo all the time, they won't feel good and it will hurt their stomach.

The other covering of these stalks is very hard. Pandas some times eat other things besides bamboo. Pandas will eat the closest food they find, meat some times. Pandas also eat grass and vines, roots.

Young pandas drink milk from the mom. when their with the their mom she makes her young one warm.
