Giant pandas eat a lot of bamboo trees because it keeps them healthy and they spend about 16 hours a day eating. Giant pandas eat one type of grass called bamboo. Pandas sleep a lot and eat at the min they get up from sleeping.

They eat for awhile sleep for a while and then eat some more. Most pandas spend up to 16 hours a day eating. They may eat in the middle of the night.

Every day a panda can eat an incredible amount of bamboo. There are hundreds of different kinds of bamboo but pandas only eat about 20 different kinds. pandas seem to prefer to eat tender bamboo shoots and leaves
when they can get them.

Some scientists say that 99 percent of all the food that a wild panda eats is bamboo. Most of the time they eat five or four different kinds of bamboo. In different kinds of areas where they live, they find different types . They look for food when they're in mountains. If they only ate the same type of bamboo all the time, they won't feel good and it will hurt their stomach.
