Introducing Prefixes

Definition of prefix :-

A prefix is a group of letters added at the beginning of a word to change its meaning.

Prefixes are like tiny instructions stuck on the front of a word, telling us what to do with the original meaning.

Here are some common prefixes-

un-: This prefix means "not" or "the opposite of."

Example: happy becomes unhappy (not happy)

re-: This prefix means "to do again."

Example: play becomes replay (do play again)

dis-: This prefix means "not" or "the opposite of."

Example: like becomes dislike (not like)
