Definition:- A suffix is a group of letters added at the end of a word to change its meaning or part of speech (like noun, verb, adjective).

Suffixes are like a single-letter superhero or a group of letters superhero at the end of a word.

Here are some common suffixes-

<ul><li>-ness:&nbsp;This suffix changes a word into a noun that describes a state or feeling.</li></ul>Example: happy becomes happiness (feeling of being happy) <ul><li>-er:&nbsp;This suffix can change a noun into a person who does something </li></ul>Example: play becomes player (one who plays) <ul><li>-ful:&nbsp;This suffix makes an adjective that describes something having a certain quality.</li></ul>Example: kind becomes kindful (having kindness)

Prefixes are like tiny instructions stuck on the front of a word, telling us what to do with the original meaning.

Activity time- Convert the words written in the verb column into their noun form. 

Notice the extra letters added to the end (Teacher, painter, writer) of the verbs to change into noun form. They changed the part of the speech of the word, right? These are our secret tools!

Activity time- Take a closer look at the following words and make their antonym :

happy- unhappy

Notice the extra letters added to the beginning (unlock, dislike, unhappy) of the original words. They changed the meaning, right? These are our secret tools!
